(Flashback: Run! Don't look back!)
"Tokyo? What the hell are you doing here this late at night?"
The temperature drops. It was dark and chilly outside. Winter was about to have its turn. The streets started to flood with white powders from droplets of clouds. Palm leaves and flower petals began to crowd snowflakes. Vapors as the wind whirl where it's getting colder and colder as fogs of clouds where to be seen from those who speak and even those that let alone breathe. The cold was starting to take place. The breeze was enough to freeze you to death. Without anything to wrap you up, surely the cold would devour you up whole and eat you up alive.
Tokyo didn't bother opening her mouth nor did she move an inch. She stood from her post. Standing tall and firm with her hands buried inside the depths of her pockets.
Her chest rose and fell as she took her breathing steady and slow. Taking all the time to maintain her eye contact with the girl in front of her. Memorizing each lines of the attorney's features. All the outlines that she bears that Tokyo admired. All the flaws that she possesses that Tokyo accepted. And everything that stands in between were what Tokyo loved.
Before the attorney could react, Tokyo steps to cross the gap with a wide stride and extends her hands open until she reaches the girl and enveloped her world into her arms.
"What—"
"God, I missed you."
It has been a week without Tokyo bugging the attorney. And for that span of time, Tokyo felt like she was walking on thin ice or that she was trying to reach the end of the line between a wrath of heaven and hell. A game of tug and war where she was held in the middle being pulled apart.
The attorney was fully aware of Tokyo's intentions and that she couldn't deny that the certain fond and presence of Tokyo was her, falling into the world she never knew existed. A world she never once believed in.
Love.
Such a mess to be involve in the world of love. Getting played with, cheated with, left with, no, why waste time with something not even worth to meddle in?
And that each amount of effort Tokyo poured into her made her walls melt down until she finally realizes that she already found herself in the midst of love.
And that she already had fallen in love.
The attorney never inched in any sort of position. She lets herself gradually accepting the warmth that her body missed. The warmth that she immediately recognized. The heavy loads she had been carrying felt lightweight. The constant doubts that troubles her, shifted to certainty. The storm she had been living through was slowly showing its light, for she felt that she was now not alone. For that someone held her hand and walk through hell with her. For the times she felt lonely, Tokyo never let her felt it all alone. And that she felt for once, how sometimes home isn't four walls but two eyes and a heartbeat.
Home.
Tokyo felt like home and everywhere she has ever been, all at once.
"You got the nerve to show up after a week like as if you didn't leave me hanging."
Again, the attorney received none the words but a soft chuckle and a sigh. She stiffens when she felt Tokyo exerted a force to tightened her hold around her. Not too hard and not too light. Just the slight amount of security and stroke of gentleness.
