The rain would not stop pouring, the droplets hit against the window as Alex placed his face up against it staring at the empty road amidst the darkness. His twin Alan, walked up to him and placed his hand on his shoulder, "Hey, don't frown, the rain might stop soon!", Alex looked back at him and sighed, "I have been looking forward to this night for weeks! It's Halloween night! I even have my favorite costume on!" Both Alan and Alex wore matching costumes, Alan was dressed as Batman while Alex was dressed as Joker. Just then their sister, Alena came down the stairs after getting ready, her costume this year was none other then Harley Quinn. "Don't worry guys, stay positive! After all good things come to those who wait", Alena said swinging her bat around as she sat back on the couch. Just then Alex screamed out, "The rain has stopped!" he grabbed his candy basket and dashed out the front door, Alan followed and Alena waved goodbye to their mom as she rushed after her young twin brothers.
Once she caught up to them she already noticed that Alex's basket already had candies in it, as he was skipping happily down the lane, Alan brought up quite a discovery," Hey, you both know about the great legend of The Spiral Man right?", Alex glared back at the dark book Alan was holding and gulped, "Do you think he wants to steal my candy?!", Alex said with his hands covering his face. Alena chuckled, "You both are so gullible, it's obvious he's just a myth, mostly a bed time story told to children who don't listen to their parents, specially those who stay up late on Halloween night." Alan rolled his eyes as he kept reading the page about the Spiral Man. One peculiar line of the text caught his eye, "He appears only at night, to the sound of people in fright, he spares no one, not a single soul, care to take the risk, will you be bold?"
Alan thought about this but kept his book down as they arrived at the house for trick or treating. After collecting various kinds of candies, their baskets were full. All three of them were strolling back home while Alex was struggling to open the wrapper of his candy bar, and Alena who was enjoying the décor and Alan who was reading the book yet again. "Guys! This is the cemetery where the Spiral is found! Both Alex and Alena were confused, they watched Alan follow the directions of the book as he arrived at an area with soil stacked up high, he took a nearby shovel and dug it up, as he did so he found a box that contained a locket that matched the picture of the Spiral that the Spiral man uses, "I can't believe it's real", Alena said looking back at it, Alex was in shock in too. Alan picked it up and stuffed it in his pocket," I think it's just a locket, I'm sure it's nothing, I'll just take it with me home, no big deal." Once three of them arrived home Alan went up to his room and took out the locket and placed it under a spotlight at his desk, he examined it closely and eventually chuckled as the locket had a slightly different feature and thought to himself," Wow for a second I thought this was real, just then at the struck of midnight, the locket lit up with a black and white spiral, Alan stared at it and slowly began to feel dizzy and felt lost with reality, even his sister's voice and his brother's voice calling out to him felt so quiet and altered. He was out of daze and gave out a quiet chuckle as he looked back at his siblings with a faint smile...
