I was seven when I learned my dad was a half ghost. I had already been admitted to school and I was in second grade because I was smart. I was playing with chalk outside when I saw phantom. Now everyone knows phantom but I had never actually seen the ghost and since he takes sucky pictures like me I never did get a good look at him or atleast until today when I got in my first ever ghost fight. It was something I'd never forget. One moment I was playing with chalk the next moment a ghost came out of nowhere and attacked me. Except I think it was an accident but either way I yelped and claws suddenly dug into me as I saw a big ecto dog monster look down at me and I heard the loudest angriest scream I have ever heard but oddly I wasn't scared. I felt safe when phantom blasted the monster off and then I looked at him and he looked at me and I was shocked. "Dad?" His eyes widened and I saw the flicker of recognition before he crossed his arms and tried to play it off. "Dad? Oh citizen um you must have me confused!" I rolled my eyes at him before picking up my chalk. "We ran out of milk." He facepalmed and I watched with a grin as the act destroyed itself "Ugh. I swear it's always the milk." I just smiled innocently "I'm a growing boy dad!" He just rolled his eyes before landing. "How did you figure me out so fast?" I pointed at his hair and then his freckles and he laughed and ruffled mine which was starting to turn into a mullet in the back. I just smiled up at him "So. Dad will I ever get any cool powers?" Dad stared at me for a long moment before shrugging. "I'm not sure. Maybe." My eyes glowed with hope and I made a promise to myself that day. A promise to start training and to work for my powers!

It was two years later after I enlisted myself in weight training and really started trying that I had my first bout of luck. It wasn't much but I had a thought of being a ghost. It looked kinda like daddies but much bluer and he had fiery hair! I beamed and tried to achieve my dream by never not thinking about it. Which didn't work but it did keep me goal oriented as I decided to go into ghost hunting with my grandparents. I was actually fighting a ghost when my first power appeared. Intangibility. It was only for a moment to dodge what would have been a killing blow from the ghost wolf I was fighting and I snarled and bit him back after. Which must of shocked the wolf because he yelped and ran off after that. Without thinking I chased after him. I was fast and agile with my slim body and I easily tracked him to what must of been his master. A lady ghost with red hair who smiled at me cruelly "Well. Well. Well what do we have here?" It was only then that I realized my grandparents weren't behind me and since I never told my dad I had went ghost hunter to follow in his footsteps... I was on my own. I growled and backed away but ghost wolf suddenly blocked me off snarling and barking. Uh oh.

To say I got my ass beat was an understatement the only reason I didn't die was because I produced some kind of super power at the end and froze myself into a big icicle. And now I really was trapped since I didn't know how to make it dissapear. The other ghost had left luckily but uh. I definitely needed a little help.

I was in ice prison for a solid hour when Callie found me and promptly laughed her ass off at my predicament. I glared daggers at her and she called my dad. I was embarrassed to hell and back when both my parents showed up and looked at my prison and all I wanted to do was dissapear... which was when my parents froze and Danny shouted. "JR!" I came back into visibility and then I blinked. Dad stared at me and I stared at him and then he formed a blast. I was startled as he blasted the ice and suddenly I was almost out! Yes! I beamed and my dad scratched the rest out of the way before shaking me "JR! WHAT DID YOU DO?" I frowned "I was attacked by a wolf and a old lady! And they were about to kill me and then I was in ice prison!" Danny stared at me for a long moment before tilting his head. "No portals?" I shook my head with a confused look and my dads whole body eased up before he realized something. "Do you know where the old lady and the wolf went?" I watched as a malicious look crossed his face and I shook my head again. "They left after I trapped myself." Dad sighed and then picked me up. "Gonna have to start training you myself." I heard him mutter and I got excited. "YOUR GONNA TEACH ME TO BE A HERO?" Dad nodded and I grinned widely. No more sneaking around for me!

Dad started training the next day. First lesson was intangibility and invisibility since dad said those were the easiest ones and I mastered invisibility quickly. It was easy to pretend I wasn't there. Kinda like hide n seek actually now intangibility was hard. Pretending I was nothing and that was hard since I had alot of pride in myself since I was the popular kid or atleast I tried to be. I frowned as I struggled with it and then I finally looked up at dad "I can't do it." Which was when I imagined him again and sighed. I probably wouldn't achieve either. But then I shook my head because I couldn't give up now! I frowned and I focused this time I really focused and I felt it. The weightlessness of being intangible and I went through the floor a little bit and dad had to catch me but he was smiling. I smiled too and I was so excited. I was going to learn to be a hero!

The first time I transformed I was with my friends a week later and we had gotten into quite the scuffle with a ghost named Skulker who was trying to capture me and well it wasn't going well since I only knew basic fighting moves and my invisibility was good but my intangibility still was on the sucky side. Although when he got me into a hold and I imagined up my ghost form with all the want I could conjour and called for him and it worked well. Skulker let me go in his surprise and I hit the ground. I lunged at him quickly trying to take my advantage while I had it and callie backed me up with her lipstick blaster and we were just barely able to get him atleast away from the nasty burger. Which was when dad showed up and I let out a sigh of relief and dropped my form. Dad could handle the talking bucket. I turned to Callie and she gave me a thumbs up. "Scary but awesome!" I nodded with a grin "I told you he was cool!" Callie just laughed and then Elizabeth walked up and snickered "doesn't change the fact that your still mr. Stickfigure art." I crossed my arms and stuck out my tongue before suddenly I felt the want to be wanted spring up. Which wasn't unusual my obsession had always been attention so I disregarded it. "So Call wanna go back and finish our lunch or nah?" Callie shrugged before my dad appeared having dealt with the iron ghost. "JR! Are you alright!? Did he hurt you!?" I shook my head and noticed the slash on my dad's shoulder. "Dad! Your hurt!" Dad just laughed "Tis but a scratch. I'll be fine." I frowned at him and took his phone out of his pocket anyways. "I'm still calling mom." Dad tried to take it back but I went intangible since I was getting better at it and I called mom to let her know that daddy got hurt.

It was three days later when I decided to show my dad my ghost form. The reason I put off on it was because I was training myself to do it on command. Which I can do now and I was so excited to show daddy my form actually I got dad and mom both because I got that excited. Which meant now I had center stage standing infront of the tv when I transformed into my skinny ghost form with red eyes and fiery white hair and blue skin with elvish ears. I was as proud as a peacock and then I looked down to see my parents reactions and they seemed shocked and not In a good way? I tilted my head curiously when I realized something. I didn't entirely look like daddy did I? "Did I do it wrong?" Dad frowned and then Sam smacked him "No. Daniel your doing great." I beamed "So I did it right?" Mom nodded and I squealed in excitement before something occurred to me "Wait! Mom what does your ghost form look like? If mine looks like this and daddies is phantom then what are you?" Mom blinked before suddenly laughing "Honey. I'm not a ghost I'm human." I tilted my head looked at dad in confusion who sighed and then sat me down in ghost form to explain what a half ghost was. "Oh! So I'm quarter ghost then?" Dad stared at me for a moment and my hopeful face and nodded. I squealed again before flying around the house. Before remembering something grandma and grandpa had told me and I flew back. "Wait! Dad! Aren't ghost evil though?" Dad looked up from where he had sat near mom and snorted. "Not all of them. Think of people. There are good and bad. There are just more bad ghost than good ghost." I frowned but nodded. That made sense and then I went back to my room. I wondered why they had such a reaction for a moment before shaking my head. I'm sure I could always figure it out later and if it was really important then daddy would tell me. I was sure of it.
