Chapter 15 - Snake in the Grass

Aiisha was sitting across from the guild master. A silver object sat on table between them.

"It's called a gun." She begins

"We are running low on funds so our next target is this creature here."

He shows them the paper with the creature that they would be hunting today.

"A Basilisk?" says Minerva.

"Yes a bounty was put on this particular basilisk after it attacked and wiped out several parties that went to kill it after villagers reported it out of fear of being eaten when hunting."Tesla explained.

"Basilisks are tough, they give even veterans a hard time. When I was in the Brotherhood we came across a wild basilisk once and bringing it down was tough. They have hard to pierce scales and deadly poison. Depending on your skill and power you can injure it with magic or magic tools." Minerva explains.

"I see. I read about the poison in the Book of Monsters. Is there an antidote for it?" Tesla asked.

"Yes, there is. I know where to get some and how to make it if need be." Cannete answered.

"Good we should get at least 8 botttles if possible." Tesla says.

"Good luck" Livian calls as the 4 leave.

The 4 travel to the location of the basilisk leaving Blackstar behind. It was actually the first village you came across if you were going to the Capital.

"Soon, very soon I'll be leaving for the capital." Tesla.

Never once had he forgotten the reasons he had become an adventurer. One was money and the other get stronger.

It was a 6 hr trip from Florenci to village so it was late afternoon when they arrived. When they arrived to the farming village the villagers explain where they had spotted the basilisk.

They set off to investigate.

Tesla had outfitted his M4A1 with a Holographic Sight and 3x Magnifier with an angled foregrip.

"This is the last known location of the basilisk." Tesla says looking around.

He kneels down looking for traces of where the giant snake could have went.

Aiisha puts her does the same sniffing the dirt.

"I know the direction it went." She says.

"That's a beastman for you." Minerva says.

"Lead the way" Tesla says.

"It seems they have have a high sense of smell as well huh?" Telsa thought.

He wasn't at all that surprised though. They were after all part animal.

After about 20 minutes they come upon a clearing. There sleeping was the basilisk in question.

It was massive. A purple giant bigger than the Anacondas seen in the movies. It's head was that in the shape of a cobra. Fangs protruding from it's mouth. Interestingly it's tail was one of a blade. If he had to guess it was over 75ft(23 meters).
