Nate
Next to tell was someone I knew would be okay and accepting of me. Alex. I wasn't going to tell him about my crush on him but I was gonna tell him about the fact that I'm gay.
I was practically shaking as I went to find him in the lunch queue. There he was, smiling as soon as we looked into each other's eyes. His hair still perfect, his brown eyes still glistening. He was Alex. He was perfect.
Alex
"Hey," Nate said nervously.
"Hi, you okay?" I asked quickly.
"Yeah can I go here in the queue please, after we have our dinner I have something important to tell you."
"Of course."
I thought of all the possible things it could be.
I hoped it was one of the following:
I like you
Wanna spend more time together
I love you
I am no longer friends with James
Wanna hang out after school.
I mainly hoped for the first or third one, it would be a dream come true.
When we got our lunch, we talked as we made our way to the abandoned shed, which used to have all the gym equipment in.
"What was it you wanted to tell me?"
"So, b-basically," he stuttered.
Nate
I regretted it straight away. I didn't know whether to tell him or not. We were there, I knew there was no going back without looking like a jerk.
"I'm gay." I said quickly, hoping he didn't hear.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I've known for a while now, it's been hard though, with James and that."
"I support you."
I had the urge to lean in for a kiss at that moment, like in a film, but I wasn't sure if he liked me back.
