𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐄 woke up to the early morning sun peaking through the curtains of her bedroom. She turned over on her side, and glanced at the radio alrm, which read six-thirty. Getting out of bed, she walked over to the window and saw people on their early morning walk, or grabbing their newspapers.

After she was dressed for the day, and her subtle eye makeup was applied, she walked out the bedroom door.

In the kitchen, she found her mother making breakfast, as her father had already gone to work. Setting her backpack in the chair, she spoke. "Morning mom."

Sheila turned around and smiled at her daughter. "Morning honey. Sleep alright?" she asked as her daughter walked over and gently kissed her cheek, then grabbed her plate of food and walked over to the table.

"I mean, I guess." Missie said as she sat down

"What do you mean you guess?" Sheila questioned as she joined her daughter at the table and began eating her breakfast

"I was tossing and turning, I was up every hour on the hour." Missie said. "I'm nervous about today. I know Ali will be there, but I hate starting a new school."

"I know, sweetheart, but you'll do just fine." Sheila reassured her daughter. "Besides, you'll make lots of friends. Look at how long it took you to make friends with Ali."

"Yeah, I know." Missie chuckled as she sipped her orange juice. "Speaking of, she's picking me up for school today."

"Alright honey, well, you girls be careful driving to school together." Sheila said

"We will mom." Missie said. "Well, I guess I better get going. Don't want to be late on the first day."

"Alright honey." Sheila smiled as she stood up from the table and embraced her daughter. "Have a great first day, and make lots of memories."

"I will mom." Missie smiled as she stood up and put her plate in the sink.

After grabbing her backpack from the kitchen chair, she kissed her mother's cheek, then walked to the foyer and opened the door before closing it behind her, to find Ali's blue mercedes in the driveway.

"Morning Ali." Missie smiled as she opened the door to Ali's blue mercedes and Billy Joel's Uptown Girl played on the radio and the beautiful brunette sat down.

"Morning Missie!" Ali smiled as she embraced her new friend. "You look so pretty!"

"Thank you." Missie smiled as she embraced the blonde. "So do you."

"So, how did you sleep?" Ali asked as she backed out of Missie's drive way and drove towards the highschool

"I slept okay, what about you?" Missie said as she put on her seatbelt

"Same." Ali said. "So are you ready for your first day at West Valley?"

Missie sighed then turned to the blonde. "To be honest, I'm nervous at how those assholes are going to treat me, you, and even the new kid." she said
