Once the Enterprise landed, it got some construction on it since the battle took a toll on it. Pike was moved to a Medical Bay where he could rest and heal. The crew off at Starfleet Academy or with family.

This brought Y/N to where she stood now. Y/N wore her black Starfleet uniform and her curly hair down. She stood tall, feet apart and hands together behind her, like a bodyguard. She stood beside Pike, who was in a wheelchair, both to the side in the council hall.

They all listened as the Academy President spoke. "This assembly called for Captain James T Kirk. Your inspirational valour and supreme dedication to your comrades is in keeping with the highest traditions of service and reflect utmost credit to yourself, your crew and the Federation." He spoke, standing in front of Kirk, who stood tall. "It is my honour to award you with this commendation." He grabbed the medal and placed it on Kirks' upper left chest on his red uniform. "By Starfleet Order 28455, you are hereby directed to report to Admiral Pike, U.S.S Enterprise for duty as his relief."

Kirk smiled and shook the Academy President's hand, then walked over to Pike and Y/N. "I relieve you, sir."

Pike smiled up at the boy, who he looked at like a son. He was proud of Kirk, of how far he's come. "I am relieved."

"Thank you, sir," Kirk smiled down at the man, who was his father figure.

"Congratulations, Captain." Pike smiled and shook Kirk's hand as everyone clapped, "your father would be proud."

Kirk smiled and looked at the audience who clapped, that contained his crew, who grinned. He looked over at Y/N, who winked at him, making him grin.

When the Enterprise was finished its construction, it was ready to go back into space. The crew took their places at their stations, ready to explore.

"Maneuvering thrusters and impulse engine at your command, sir," Sulu nodded.

"Weapon systems and shields on standby," Chekov read the board.

"Dock control reports ready, Captain," Uhura spun around in her chair.

Kirk stood at the door of the Bridge and nodded with a smile; he then looked around and saw his friend, now wearing a mischievous grin. "Bones! Buckle up," Kirk raised his eyebrows and slapped Bones shoulder, going to sit in his captain's chair.

"Scotty, how we doing?" Kirk asked him through the comlink.

"Dilithium chamber's at maximum, Captain," Scotty replied and then yelled, "get down!"

Kirk shook his head with a chuckle, knowing who he was yelling at. He then turned to his Helmman, "Mr. Sulu, prepare to engage thrusters." Sulu tapped buttons on his board but looked over at the turbolift when it opened, everyone else also looking.

"Permission to come aboard, Captain," Spock asked.

"Permission granted," Kirk smiled.

"As you have yet to select a first officer, respectfully, I would like to submit my candidacy," Spock walked up to Kirk, who stood. "Should you desire, I can provide character references."

"It would be my honour, commander."

"Ugh, Тинкер Белл, always playing by the rules," Y/N rolled her eyes playfully, walking out of the turbolift, to stand beside the captain's chair.

"I thought you were supposed to stay on earth?" Kirk looked at the woman.

"Dad convinced me that you'd somehow die without me," Y/N shrugged, "so, here I am."

Kirk shook his head with a chuckle, "I'm happy your here; I needed a Head Cheif of Security, Cheif PV," he winked, making her smirk. Kirk then sat in his chair, "maneuvering thrusters, Mr. Sulu."

"Thrusters on stand by," Sulu nodded.

"Take us out."

"Aye-aye, Captain."

Once the Enterprise warped, Kirk looked over at Y/N, "I told you I could do it in three instead of four years."

"Yea, I knew you could; the question was, would you?" She smirked, "plus, I lied."

"About what?" He scrunched his brows, looking up at the woman as everyone looked at the two.

"It took me one year, not four."

Kirk's eyes went wide as he froze, "bullshit."

"You wish, Loverboy," she winked. "I'm just better than you," she whispered, the last part making Kirk laugh.

"It's a tie, Princess," he grinned at her.

"That's what losers say," she winked.
