Adrien
"She's so amazing Plagg. Perfect in every way." Plagg rolled his eyes. "I find this stinky in every way, yes, yes, sweet cheese is what's perfect in every way."Adrien sighed and smiled at his kwami. "You don't understand Plagg. She makes me so inexplicably happy in every way possible. She's so pure, so determined, so strong, and she even came to ME to help her! Me as Chat Noir!" He flopped back down on his bed, a wide smile engulfing his face.
After she had calmed down, he had carried Ladybug to an alley like place where she could find her way home safely but he wouldn't be able to tell where exactly her home was. "Thank you for everything Chat." She had said, kissing his cheek. "Thank you." He blushed all the way home.
"Whoever she is behind that mask, I love that-"
"Yeah, yeah you "love that girl" WE GET IT." Plagg groaned. "Same deal every time. You get your hopes up and then she rejects you for that OTHER boy. When are you gonna give up?"
"Adrien smiled despite Plaggs words. "Never Plagg, never. She's worth the wait."
Plagg rolled his eyes for the 500th time that day. "Maybe you should stop looking at the wrapper and try and unwrap the cheese. You might be surprised with what you find."
Adrien pondered what he said. "You know she'll never let us reveal our secret identities. It's too dangerous."
"Always with the precautions." Plagg said shaking his head. "Sugar cube can never have any fun."
They sat in silence for a few minutes, before Adrien eventually said "We should get some rest Plagg. I missed almost a full day of school. I'll need rest for tomorrow."
He went to bed happy, dreaming of his lady, and who that beautiful girl might be behind her mask.

The next day dragged on. No akuma attacks, no drama, nothing at all. It was almost unsettling. Lila was in class as usual, Marinette was her usual bubbly self, and Ladybug even let him play with her hair ties at their nightly patrol.
He flopped down on his bed later that night and stared up at his ceiling contemplating the days events. He wasn't positive, but he had a feeling something big was coming, especially with the whole "him almost killing Lila" thing. He hated that deep down a part of him had hoped she might not wake up. The school would have so much less drama and Shadow Moth would have so many fewer victims.
Does that make me a murderer? He wondered.
The next few days were more of the same, waking up, going to school, nightly patrol, repeat. On Friday night however, things started to change. His father forced him to attend a regal dinner in their dining room, similar to the one they had had recently. This time however, only Felix and his mother were invited. Well, that's who he told was going to be there.
Midway through the dinner, someone knocked at the door. A girl with hazel eyes and long brown hair stalked in. Lila? What is she doing here? Adrien thought as his eyes a followed her to her seat. "Adrien I'd like you to meet Lila." His father said coldly. "She's working with me on some of the political topics brought up with the election. She's going to be the new face of the Agreste brand."
Adriens eyes widened, and suddenly all he wanted was to crawl into a deep hole and stay there. He was sitting in a room with four monotonous liars- or at least some of them were. "Why father why are they here? Am I not enough for you?" was what he wanted to say. He never would though. He knew better to simply nod and say "Yes father."
Lila smiled at him, sending him into a pool of unease. It wasn't right. She shouldn't have been there and he didn't want her there. He glanced over at Felix, but he was simply eating as if nothing was wrong. Adrien glanced at his Aunt Amelie, and she wore her same bland smile. It was nothing like his mothers. His mothers smile was warm and homely, as if a million suns were combined to create one perfect smile.
"Please excuse me." He said, leaving the table. It was too much to handle and too soon. It had only been a year and a half since his mother had passed, and he felt like his father was pushing her out of his mind to focus more on his "business."
He left the room, ignoring Lilas questioning expression and not even bothering to glance at his father and Felix's monotonous stares.
He walked up silently to his room, no one asking him to stay. Figured. Once in his room, he paced anxiously, not knowing what to do with himself. On one hand, he could turn into Chat Noir and escape this miserable place, but on the other, the good side of him told himself that it was disrespectful to leave the house while they had guests over. He sighed and took out the love letter he had received on Valentine's day awhile back- he liked reading it over and over because it made him feel... comforted. Like no matter what happened there would always be someone out there who had read his poem and even responded to it.
He read it over a few times, pondered who might have sent it, then gave up. The usual routine. Having calmed down, he took a deep breath and opened his door, ready to make his way back to the dreary dinner. He was just reaching the long staircase, when he heard voices coming from... a room? He walked over to the portrait of his "family," aka his serious father and his own sad self.
He walked closer to the portrait , his curiosity getting the best of him. "This, is your future." His father said. "You have been entrusted with a responsibility unlike any other. We cannot continue like this... with citizen by citizen failing to get me what I want time after time again. You, you Lila, are going to be the change."
Adrien gasped and took a step back, his heart racing. He pressed his ear against the portrait one last time, to hear her response. He wished he hadn't.
"You wont be disappointed Shadow Moth. Only surprised."
