Rain poured down harshly along the cobbstones, creating a clicking tone as I rushed fast, grasping his hand in mine. A voice yelled and shouted from behind, but I simply ignored it. Giving off a small giggle, I went faster, my legs kicking up and splashing murky water on the both of us. My black and white stockings now soaked, I didn't possibly care much. But my father on the other hand.. that wasn't important. What was important was getting away, and taking him with me. The idiotic male would have gotten us caught if I hadn't pulled him along for the ride. Traveling into the forest beside the town, I continued to shortly trip over twisted roots and branches scattering the ground, as if they were attempting to grasp my legs and pull me into the depths of their wooden treachery. The male shouted at me to halt, but it was about 20 feet more I ran before finally stopped, letting go of his hand and hyperventilating. I leaned against a large oak tree, slowly slouching til I hit the wet ground, mud and leaves dirtying this ugly blue dress my father had said I looked 'smashing' in. I know we live in England, but I despised when my father used slang like that. It's quite ridiculous. The male turned towards me, glaring with his face nearly bright red, "Alice?! What were you thinking?!?" He exclaimed, pacing back and forth as he held his forehead in his palms, "I didn't mean for this to happen!!" I quickly replied, but he turned towards me with an enraged look in his eyes, "You never 'mean' for things to happen! But it did!" He sighed loudly, "I told your father I'd watch out for you tonight.. but once again you drag me into trouble! No wonder my mother believes your a bad influence! Your curiosity always get the best of you, Alice!" He sat across from me on a medium sized boulder as the rain soaked his charcoal-black hair. I whimpered slightly, readdressing my baby blue dress (now stained with dark shades of brown and black). "Sorry Jasper..." I muttered, and I could see him look over at me and his facial expression soften, "Don't apologize.. it's not your fault, it's who you are.." He spoke in his thick british accent, then looked over in the direction we had come from, "Do you believe the police are
still looking for us?" I nodded, my golden lockes dripping in my face. He sighed once again, a habit of his when something went bad or not the way he wanted it to. Then footsteps were heard. Loud, banging footsteps, furious. I could see Jasper's green eyes widen, and my lip began to quiver. This was it, they were coming for us. Once the police came and took us to the juvenile detention center, we'd be bailed out by our parents and would probably never see each other again. Or worse, my father would make me stay there. He'd always threaten me he would... I squinted my eyes closed as the steps began to become even louder. Then Jasper gave out a small laugh, and I cracked my eyes opened. Standing in front of him was a white rabbit, wearing a waistcoat, "Pfft, Alice, we were getting scared over a cutely dressed rabbit-!" I gave out a small giggle, "Aw, the poor thing perhaps ran away from home. I can see why though... I hate getting dressed up by my owner as well, little rabbit," I scooted over towards the rabbit and petted it's head. The rabbit stared down at his waistcoat, then dug his paw through it. I suspected he was attempting to take it off, but then he pulled out a golden pocket watch instead. My eyes widened, why did a plain white rabbit even have a pocket watch in his posession?...
