Of course. Out of all people they could have chose from my district they had to choose me. The games start tomorrow and today is my last training session. I think I'm doing pretty well in training... I just don't know what to show as my talent the Gamemakers. I need to show them something useful.
Despite what my mentor said about keeping lower profile so other tributes don't come after me, I still want a high ranking. I know that can lead me to my death, but I'm already dead. I know I'm not coming out of those games alive. I need to work hard on my last training session and find what I'm good at.

I ended up getting a score of 10. Not exactly the score I wanted but it's still a good ranking. The male from my district, Darell, got a ranking of 11. I hope he isn't part of the bloodbath tomorrow.
Although Darell and I never talked before the games, I still don't want anything to happen to him yet. It's just better that someone else does it instead of me.
I guess you can say, I have feelings for Darell.
***********************
The countdown is at 4. I look into Darell's eyes and he mouths the words, “Run.".
I don't want to run. I need something. I try to look around to see if how the Gamemakers set up the Games this year, but the sunlight hurts my eyes.
I see a bag. God knows what can be contained inside but it's better to have something rather than having nothing.
Darell looks at me and understand what I'm going to do instantly. He shakes his head in disagreement, but now it's too late. I've ran to the bag and I have reached it.
As soon as I get up, another tribute stands over me and is about to stab my neck with a knife. I don't know who it is because the sunlight is in my eyes and has blurred my vision for a few seconds.
As soon as the tribute is about to stab me, another tribute dashes towards me and takes the hit for me. I don't realize who it is until I kill the other tribute.
Darell. Darell was the tribute that dashed towards me to save my life.
***********************
I can't believe Darell did that for me. He shouldn't have. He didn't have too! He risked his life for mine and now he's gone. I kiss his cheek and run for the forest. I don't know where to go but I do know I'm not safe for long.
I'm running as fast as I can until I start to lose my breath and slow down and start to run at a jogging paste. I'm so confused right now. I don't know why he did that. It's going to haunt me forever. I loved him and he never knew.
***********************
That night I climbed up a high tree whose branches were as thick as its bark, which made it easier to climb. I opened the bag that I got from the Cornucopia. I see a rope, a knife, some sort of medicine and some water.
I haven't eaten something all day and I'm starving. But it's too late to go down to eat now. I know that starting a fire would be too risky and I'm lucky to be alive even after the first day.
Darell's face lights up in the air of fallen tributes.
15 tributes dead in less than 24 hours. The thought scares me as much as it makes me happy. I'm so thankful that's not one of me and that also means less to kill.
***********************
I've been asleep for about 3 hours. I hear something above me. I hear the sound of a little girl from District 8 who has just been killed by a group of allies. I never understood the point of being allies if you need to kill them in the end...
The sound above me is back. This time louder. I know it's a tribute that has been hiding in this tree as long as I have. I look up to find the boy from District 9 staring down at me.
He's holding something. That's when I realize, it's a knife.
