3rd Person pov
-----

9:53 Pm.

That's the time it was when Felix had decided to drive his friends kids home from some school event, and it certainly was not going well at all.
See, Felix decided it would've been a WONDERFUL idea to yknow, drown his pain away with alcohol. He had a high tolerance that's for sure, but the amount he had taken at the event certainly wasn't good. Who the HELL puts alcohol bars in schools anyways? Seems irresponsible.

Felix couldn't decipher well what road he was going on, and the loud radio was only muddying his thoughts more; he could tell that Ed and Molly were getting nervous too, somewhat being able to hear their shifting in their seats. They trusted their uncle, sure, but currently this didn't look like it'd lead to anything well.

He gripped onto the steering wheel tightly, doing his best to keep his blurry mind set on the road as Ed cautiously spoke up, seeing as he was the older kid in the car.
" How much is left 'till we get home? "

" Not much I'm just.. Kinda lost I think. " He only managed to mumble, taking a small glance at the two, well, *three* in the back. That stupid rabbit they got; Rocket, if you wanna call it by its name, is here. Felix never liked it to be fair. He swore he could see that damned gray rabbit staring, eyes boring into his soul at all time, as if it was conscious.

Creepy.

" Uncle Felix, were you drinking? " Molly spoke up a bit after, smiling gently at the driver, though it was mostly in concern. " Our teacher says drinking is not goo- "

" No no no, I'm just.. I'm just feeling dizzy; It's not that big of a deal, alright? "

The two kids looked at each other worriedly. Ed only sighed and nodded at Felix " Alright.. "
Molly climbed into his brothers lap as they stared out of the window, which seemed seemingly pitch black. There were a couple sheep's littered out in the pitch black forest just outside of the car, which seemed a bit off but, everything seemed off right now.

Molly couldn't help it and hiccupped slightly, getting increasingly upset. " I wanna go home. "

" Molly, we're almost there " Felix began, carefully peeling his eyes away from the front, but Ed immediately butt in right after " Don't you think you're driving too fast? "

" I'm just trying to get you two home quickly, alright? " Felix snapped, only becoming faster, before sighing right after " Look I'm sorry. I'm not feeling too good right now and I just want to lay in bed. "

Molly smiled gently at him again " It's alright, we get that today wasn't the best for you. " she squeaked with a comforting tone " We understand, everything is going to be okay! " she smiled brightly.

Felix smiled and went to reply, before it finally clicked in him what the hell he was doing. He was risking two kids lives. And not just any kids, *Jacks* kids lives.
He abruptly stopped, the car jerking everyone forward at the sudden halt. Ed shrieked in surprise and held Molly tightly, both of them closing their eyes before slowly opening them to see that they were okay.

Meanwhile Felix was now holding the steering wheel in a while-knuckled grip. He looked as pale as a sheet, staring at the road in disbelief.
He swore he had an out-of-body experience there. Something of burying. How disturbing.
He shook slightly, before slowly turning to them fully now that the car wasn't moving anymore. His glasses were foggy, covering any kind of guilt that could've shown through his eyes.

" I-I'm sorry kids, I shouldn't- I *was* drinking. I shouldn't be driving right now, I can't have you two getting hurt, Jack would kill me- *I* could accidentally kill any of us. "

He didn't mean to suddenly spill like that, especially to little children; it felt necessary though. How the hell could he have done that to them??

The two kids paused, and they both immediately opened their mouth to reply with something comforting, only to hear a sudden truck whizzing by. The three watched in dismay as they saw the huge vehicle dangerously screeched past the small car. Did they just..?
....If he had gone any further he would've killed someone. If he had gone any further he would've killed Ed and Molly.

It was silent for only a couple minutes, but it felt like an eternity until Felix finally spoke up, now crying like a literal baby. I'm getting second hand embarrassment myself...

" Oh my god I-I- " Felix began, but the two stopped him immediately " I think it's best you rest, Uncle Felix. " they said; in-sync with each other.

" Are you sure? We're still in the mi- "

" It's safer than continuing. " Ed grumbled " Did you not see what just happened? I'd prefer be stuck out here till morning than have you have an accident. What would dad say if he thought that you died? If any of us died? You said it yourself, you *shouldn't* be driving. "

" Plus, you look really tired... And really sad... You need sleep.. " Molly continued

How embarrassing.. Getting lectured by children. You really don't have common sense, do you Felix?
He sighed, taking his hands off the steering wheel. " Alright. Alright we'll rest here. If you guys wake up earlier than me then please wake me up, alright? "

Ed nodded, and Molly giggled brightly " Sleep tight!! "

" Yeah, I will. "

Obviously Felix couldn't tell how much time had passed, but he had woken up to the sun brightly shining in his face... And to a horrid, probably brain-eating migraine. He shifted slowly to be sitting up correctly in the drivers seat, stretching to his best abilities. Now that he could see clearly in the dark, and his thought process was finally up to date, he was finally able to tell where they were.

they were surrounded in a familiar forest road that splits in three different directions(four if you count the road Felix is on); they weren't that far from Jack's house now that he realized it, but he probably wouldn't have made it far before passing out.

He still felt a crawling guilt on his back after that. He could've caused something traumatic to Ed and Molly. He was sick in the head. Extremely sick. But he couldn't possibly tell them that.. Unless you count that small breakdown last night.

He could hear their soft breathing, assuming that they were still fast asleep.

Good. At least he wouldn't have to think of it currently. He turned the car back on and began on his way again, humming quietly as he drove to  keep himself occupied with something else.

-

It only took about 15 minutes, but they soon pulled up at Jack's house. He sighed in relief and turned to look at the back " Ed, Molly; you're home. " he called gently to the two kids. To his surprise, Rocket was nowhere to be seen in the back. Did they forget him at their school? It couldn't be, right? He saw the stuffed rabbit after all with his own two eyes last night.

Then again, he also dead asleep from how much alcohol he had. He's sure the bunny will be put in the lost and found if someone at the school does find it.

Being light sleepers, these two woke up after one or two more repeats of what he said. They both groggily looked out the window, seemingly not wanting to getting up at all; they both fell back asleep immediately after. Felix just sighed and rubbed his temples, exiting before opening the back and gently picking the two up, Ed on his shoulders and Molly like a baby " Come on, "

It was somewhat difficult to make it to the door, but he managed. He carefully rung the doorbell, standing awkwardly while the two kids on him snored like rocks. For light sleepers, they certainly were out like lights instead. Practically dragging down your uncle shouldn't be THAT comfortable, right?

Rosemary was who opened the door and GOD did she look miserable.

Felix didn't even want to imagine how much pain she had gone through just because he wasn't there last night; mothers are very emotional from his experience... Well mothers are weird in general. Is that disrespectful? Maybe. Probably.
Her eyes were blood-shot and he swore he could see tear streaks even without tears running down her face right now. As soon as she laid eyes on Felix she got ready to cry out in relief, seeing how the children were asleep still though she immediately shut up. She quietly ushered him into the living room without a word.

" Where should I put them? " Felix asked, and Rosemary shakily pointed to a room that was inside of a corridor " third r-room on the left.. " Felix nodded, smiling apologetically before entering the house and walking into said room. He set Molly down first in her respective bed, pulling the blanket over her and tucking her in correctly before doing the same for Ed, hearing him mutter something about how he 'wasn't a kid anymore' which made him chuckle a bit.

He gently closed the door after he finished, taking a deep breath as he slowly walked to where he had been originally.

Jack was now there, right next to Rosemary. He was in similar condition too, though he was somewhat rubbing his Adams apple. Perhaps his voice was hoarse?

" Listen, I- "

" Where the FUCK were you Felix?! " Jack interrupted, which confirmed that his throat was indeed, hoarse. Maybe he just used it up within the time period Felix was gone. " I was calling non stop all night with NO ANSWER do- do you know how SCARED we were?? We NEED to know if our kids are okay Felix that stunt you pulled was NOT FUCKING FUNNY. "

" Jack, love; at least let him explain first, I think that's what he was going to do anyways. " Rosemary said in a soft tone, putting a hand on Jack and smiling at Felix reassuringly " But.. He is right. You had us worried sick. Did something happen? You can tell us, we're all friends here after all. "

It got caught in Felix's throat instinctively.
How could he possibly explain to his friend he had gotten drunk while responsible for his little children?

Jack glared intensely while Rosemary gave a patient smile, staring right at Felix, only feeling his guilt build up more.
He sighed, gripping his chest. " I.... We got lost on the way. We didn't know where we were going through so we had to stop for the night. I'm sorry. "
It wasn't entirely a lie, wasn't entirely the truth either.
He was never known to be truthful though, was he?

Jack's glare faltered before he gave a relieved sigh " Thank God. I was worried that something more serious happened I-I mean- what would we do without them?? What would we do without *you*?? You're basically like family. " He laughed meekly. Rosemary chuckled gently " See Jack? I told you you had nothing to worry about. Felix is your best friend, and he's responsible. Otherwise you probably wouldn't be able to run that company of yours, hm? "

Felix just nervously nodded with a crooked smile.

" Anyways.. You're probably gonna have to apologize to Sophie. The little lady was crying all night. " Rosemary continued.
" Ah, I will.. Could I have some water first though? "
" Of course! Give me a second. " as Rosemary walked away, Felix could only feel overwhelming relief, even with that small twinge of guilt that was still festering in him.

He can ignore it though; for now, at least. He had at least stopped himself from something horrific happening.
He made a good choice for once.

A/N - Incase you don't read descriptions on wattpad books or something, this isn't supposed to be an actual story. A better built one-shot you could probably call it.
If for some reason it's wanted to make this into an actual book, I wouldn't mind stuffing a couple more chapters.
