Mom used to tell me stories. Ones about peculiar children and the people that watched them. They had odd abilities and hid from creatures called Hollows. According to grampa and great grandfather, before he died, Hollows were tall and has tentacles as well as sharp teeth.

Mother brushed it off as stories but Grampa said it was true. He told me about Miss Peregrine and her children. He lives with them most of the time but visits with me. He tells me many stories just as great grandfather did to him.

I got older though. Eventually forgetting them after Grampa and Mom passed.

"Well what do you think of Britain, Alice?"

I looked outside the window. It was kind of pretty despite it being kinda cloudy. Dad decided that after mom died we would move to Britain for a clean slate.

"It's nice dad."

"Great! I'll get us to our new house."

Our house was kinda small. Ironic dad picked one with a big kitchen. We don't have much stuff. What I mean by that is that Dad doesn't cook. He usually gets take out, pizza, or microwavable foods. I have learned a bit about baking and cooking though.

"Alice! Can you help me move some boxes?"

"Sure."

I walked down as dad set boxes on the ground. One, smaller than others,labelled14th birthday(?). Dad handed me a few as well as the 14th birthday box. I turned 14 a few months ago. Maybe it was for me?

"Hey dad, whats the small box labelled "14th Birthday?"

"Oh something your mother wanted to give you. I kind of forgot about it."

"Ah. Thanks dad."

It's always hard to sleep in a new place. At least for me. So many things going on in my mind. What was in the box? I set it on my night stand that day. I looked at my clock. 4:00 AM. Wouldn't hurt to open it.

I opened the box and saw a envelope with my name on it. I opened it to find some money and a map as well as a note reading;

"Dear Alice, I hope you get this at the right time. This is a map of the world with destinations to a few houses. I've given you enough money to travel around. I hope you find them. Here are some pictures from your grampa, great grandfather, and my experience. Love, Mother."

I looked at the box again and found pictures both older and newer. Some looked like the one's Mom and grandpa had told me about. Miss Peregrine's children, I remembered. But there were a few newer ones with different kids. One was blonde boy with tiny wings and looked near his teens next to him was a burnette with tiny goat horns and goat hooves also looking around the same age.

A few more including a man with big gray wings, and boy with pink hair, a smiling kid, a boy and some kind of ethereal looking man or creature with a x and d on it's face, a goat girl, a boy who had heterochromatic eyes (green and red) as well as his body being half black and white, and so many more.

They each had descriptions on the back of the pictures. I remembered all the stories mom told me. About the houses. One of them was labelled "Phil's House/Loop" in Britain! I had to find it. What if the stories were true?

It seemed to be connected to a old subway. I packed some things up and looked at the window. It's be tough but if I followed the map and maybe ask around I could find it.
