New home, new school, and no familiar faces. I just left the hospital two days ago, along with having to visit a grave site. I was stupid and careless. My mom and sisters were riding in the car with me. Normal day, normal drive, until the semi in front of me decided to veer into my lane pushing me into oncoming traffic. The rest of the wreck is a blur, but I can still see the look in their eyes when they died.
My name is Daniel Smith. I'm a completely average five-foot-eleven 17 year old. Well average as in someone you would see every day passing by on the streets. I guess you could say my hair color is brown and I have blue eyes. Now though my body is lined with scars and in my opinion looks cool. I don't seem to mind the scars very much like most people thought I would.
I was in a coma for three months. The doctors had to completely replace the bones in my arms with metal pieces. Cuts, bruises, and stiches all over my body. Recovery was a pain, even during the move to a new state. Funerals suck. I never cry, I don't know why I don't, but I just can't cause myself to cry. My dad is old and his body is breaking down. Now I know I'm going to have to take care of him from now on. After all that happened, I still have to go to a new school, but with one heck of a summer story.
