A girl named dani ardor discovers that her family is dead due to carbon monoxide, which was caused by her sister, months later while grieving she figures out that her boyfriend was planning to go to sweden, at pelle's home. She joins in (bad thing to do while grieving) wait. Didnt i tell you that her bf (chris) wants to break up with her? Wild.

As soon as they arrive, they switch to driving. When they arrive, what i call lobby, pelle's cousin is back from britain! Yehey! They greet each other and most likely pelle's cousin supposedly brought people with him. They have a relationship (welp, someones jelly), after those moments pelle's cousin gave them (dani and the others) a hallucinogen!! Damn.

While dani tries to back out, it was an awkward situation. She accepts (NO STOP) to avoid conflict. After a little woozy moment with the "gang" dani starts to see things. When pelle mentions family, dani starts to get a little loopy, not the good kind.

She finds a place to hide which was a LITERAL BATHROOM. She started seeing her dead sister and runs away deep in the forest. She wakes up after her little 6 hour nap, and they go to the village with o-so glorious music.

when they arrive, the people are greeted with people preparing for the midsummer and some elderly  people standing, waiting to greet them. (And there is a cow.) (Now hang on now, the peeps greeted the others with a "welcome", but to dani its "welcome home". Buckle up my gals.) they talk until CULT kids-

Wait, THEY'RE A CULT?! Yes they are, a pagan cult.

Anyways, the cult kids are starting to gather around a stage. And elderly harga named siv greeted and talked about things in swedish, then it turned into english about her cheering for being in this once-per-90-year tradition!

Now, let us start with finger painting, then picking flowers, and if we are feeling frisky, lets run in a circle holding hands!

Oh? Chris is feeling frisky? Then he can join in cause he is an american! But when hes going, he forgot it was dani's birthday. When pelle knew and drew her a gift, chris forgot (moron) AND DANI BLAMES HERSELF?! Nope girl drop that asshole.

The outsiders are shown around the village, you got the runic alphabet, a triangle temple, a bear- and there is also a tapestry that includes woman's pubic hair and menstrual blood, mom pick me up im scared.

Pelle takes them to the harga main building, a giant communal bedroom for the younger hargas. Pelle explains the life in sets of 18- your a child until 18, a young adult until 36, of working age until 54 and an elder mentor until 72. Oh, what happens when you 72? Thats what the Attestupa is for.

They feast the next day, waiting for the dinner boy. When the dinner bell rings, they dig in. Oh! What is this? A PUBIC HAIR IN CHRIS' FOOD?!?! Not to mention there are 72 year old people in the middle. After they eat the lightweights land on their ass so hard they have to be carried. They gather for Attestupa, the elderly people are on top of the cliff.

A person above 39 cuts their hand and smears their blood on a rock that has runic alphabets. And then the elderly person (ylva), stands up and walks to the tip of the cliff. When dani knew what will happen, she did a bellyflop on the rock, completely demolishing her ribs.

Then dan (the old man) jumps off, but for some reason he does a pencil dive. He breaks both of his legs, but he's still alive. The hargas start wailing and crying, a guy and some others brought a mallet and a girl (who's most likely 30 or 20) bashed his face in with the mallet.

Dani was traumatised, the tourists started freaking out ever since ylva got her face bashed. But the british started leaving. But siv started catch them, saying that death is a gift, not something you should think of.

But the tourists still left. As soon as they left, dani was walking the opposite direction. She was gonna have a breakdown, but the editor sucks and skipped to josh (chris' friend) and Chris. Chris was planning to do the same thing as josh ever since they arrived.

Josh was furious. So furious he was complaining to pelle. When they were gonna sleep, (or when MOSTLY were sleeping) a ginger put some kind of thing that makes him in love (i think) meanwhile dani had her own world.

Dani woke up when she heard a engine starting. She goes outside, it was Chris, josh and mark. She awoke in the day, oh and josh was peeping.
