𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 3 - A Team Is Born

I went back to my seat and opened the lunch my sister had lovingly prepared. As I ate, I thought about the strange request to visit the principal’s office.

Once I finished, I headed straight there, knocking lightly on the door.

“Come in” the principal’s voice called

I stepped inside, and to my surprise, there were eleven other students in the office.

They looked about my age, but none of their faces were familiar to me.

“New students? And why are there so many of them?” I thought, glancing at each of them

“This is the first time I’ve seen eleven transfer students in one day” I murmured to myself

Suddenly, one of the boys with spiky hair and a shocked expression spoke up “Y-You! Aren’t you [L/N] [F/N], one of the members of the former Raimon soccer team?” he said

I blinked at him “Yes I am, I'm glad you know me?” I smile

“Principal, don’t tell me she’s the one you’re adding to our team” another boy, Asuto, said, his voice laced with disbelief

“Huh? Me? Added to a team? What kind of team? W-Wait, I don’t understand!” I stammered

The principal raised his hand to calm me down. “Let me explain, [L/N]-san”

After the principal explained everything, I finally understood.

“Oh, I see. So they are the reason the old man didn’t transfer me from Raimon” I said thoughtfully

“We are?” Norika, a girl with a bright smile, asked

“Yes” I replied with a nod.

We all introduced ourselves to one another, breaking the initial awkwardness.

As we walked toward the soccer clubroom, we were suddenly stopped by nine girls blocking our path.

“They’re the student council” I thought with a frown

“I really don’t like them” I added

“You must be the soccer team from Inakuni” said a girl with an air of authority

“Yeah, that’s us. Who are you?” Mansaku asked bluntly

“I am Mikado Anna, the student council president. I oversee the management of all club activities” she said with a smug tone.

“Evaluating the new soccer club is also the student council’s responsibility” she added

“What do you need to evaluate us for?” Goujin demanded

“If we find you unworthy, you’ll be kicked out of this school immediately” a girl with glasses declared coldly

“A sponsor-less team has no right to call itself Raimon” added another girl with dark green hair

“We’ll win, and we’ll take back soccer!” Asuto declared passionately.

Mikado smirked “Do you even know who your opponent is? Seishou Academy’s ace striker, Haizaki Ryouhei, is known as the Devil of the Field”

“Seishou Academy? “Isn’t that where Kidou and Haruna study?” I thought

“But Haizaki only appears in one out of every three games. Maybe you’ll get lucky,” Mikado continued mockingly

“Besides, even if you somehow manage to beat Seishou Academy, it would turn the world on its head.”

“Then we’ll win and turn it on its head!” Asuto shot back
