Chapter 26 - Realized

AMANDA’S POV:

Elliot and I went to Tagaytay Sky Ranch, I was a bit excited because I haven’t had any fun for while, and I mean a long while. Our first ride was the Sky Rider a 300 meters long Zip line. The climb up to the tower platform is a bit tiring, but worth it.

While the personnel’s gear us up, I couldn’t help but remember the time when Richard and I where standing on the top of falls on Chef Jaden’s Island.

(Flashback)

 

I was a bit frightened; my knees were shaking while I looked down from the top of the falls. This is the third time na tatalon muli kami as part of the training. I remember our last two jumps we had, we all end up cemented with awful sludge for days to cure our broken and fractured bones.

 

I froze, and did several of breathing exercise when I felt someone’s hand over my shoulder. When I cock my head to look at the hands direction, I saw Richard. I smiled in relief, and said, “I’m scared” Pag amin ko sa kanya.

 

“Don’t be, will jump together. Give me your hand”. He was all smiling. Just by that, I regain my strength and confidence; and then we hold hands. “Don’t let go Richard”. Madiin kong hinawakan ang kanyang kamay. Then he said while he looking at me. “Never”. Then we jumped and screamed together.

“Hey, Amanda are you okay” Tanong ni Elliot sabay hawak sa balikat ko. Ito ang nag pabalik sa akin sa reyalidad. Tumingin ako sa kanya at pilit na ngumiti.

“Are you scared?” May bahid ng pag aalala ang boses nito.

Napalingon akong muli sa kanya. I harden my expression before saying, “NEVER”. I took a deep breath and move forward coz we’re set to go.

“I am” Sagot naman nito. Kumunot ang noo ko.

“Will you hold my hand, please”. He looked at me with puppy dog eyes, his trying to be charming. Napangiti naman ako sa ginawa niya. Then I scolded myself saying -give it a chance Amanda, just at least try--. Again I took a long deep (as deep as the abyss) breath, before grabbing his hand. Then the personnel pushed us.

“That was fun!” I said after. I was really enjoying the rides.

“Hell yah! Hey Mandy, I mean, can I call you Mandy?” Alanganin tanong ni Elliot.

“Technically where off duty so I guess yah”. Naka ngiti kong sabi habang ng lalakad. Then he flashes his very charming smile, showing his very attractive dimples. -Jeezz, I think I can get use to that kind of smile- Sabi ng paki-elamera kong konsenya.
