I found myself alone with Alex. My head was hurting. The man I had invited here had unexpectedly left, not even giving an explanation.

I took Alex home, and left him to rest while I went for a walk to clear my foggy mind.

As I was making my way through a crowd, I heard a bunch of screaming coming from a building, and soon enough people came running out. Then a man came out of the building, with the wave of his scepter flipping over a police car.

"Kneel before me. I said, KNEEL!". Shouted the man, stamping the scepter he was holding against the ground.

The crowd followed, kneeling. I wasn't about to do that, but before I had the time to protest, the man next to me pulled me down.

Now that all were kneeling, I could see the man better. And it was none other than the man I had been to the bar with not that long ago. But now he was wearing some weird clothes, including a horned helmet that looked really heavy, that I was surprised his neck didn't break.

"Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity, that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel". Said Loki as he walked among the crowd.

What is going on?

"Not to men like you". Said an old man.

"There are no men like me". Loki said with a confident smile.

"There are always men like you". Responded the old man bravely.

"Look at your elder, people. Let him be an example". He said, aiming his scepter at the old man.

Instinct kicked in and I ran towards the man in an attempt to save him.

Before I knew it, I found myself in front of him, ready to be hit, but at the last moment, another man appeared in front of me, hitting the blast back at Loki with the help of his shield.

"You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing". Said the man that was now standing tall in front of me.

"The soldier. A man out of time".

"I'm not the one who is out of time". Replied the brave soldier that I just owed my life to.

From behind I could hear a woman's voice being broadcasted, saying:

"Loki. Drop the weapon and stand down".

In retaliation, Loki blasted another wave of bright blue light, this time at the jet the voice had come from. In a quick response, the soldier threw his shield at Loki, which bounced right off of his armour. Making the soldier have to get closer, in order to punch him. But the punch didn't even seem to hurt Loki.

Stunned by his ineffectiveness, the soldier gets thrown back.

In this time, all the people ran away, leaving me as the only person that was still there.

The men continued to fight, yet I wasn't able to run for some reason. I felt like I should help in some way, I just didn't know how.

Loki once again threw the soldier back, and then pointed the back of his scepter against his head.

"Kneel".

"Not today". Responded the soldier, kicking back at Loki.

As Loki threw the man back once again, he made eye contact with me, finally noticing that I was there.
