the smell of freshly baked apple pies and hot coffee fills my nose as I walk past the bakery.
The streets are awfully busy in the afternoon sun of the summer in Seattle.

"Mommy?"

I looked down at my perfect little girl Sofia, she was tugging on my jacket.

"I wanna see momma"

she looks at me with her sweet little innocent smile.

"of course sweetheart, I'll see if I can organise something for you"

I reply smiling as I grab my cup of coffee from the barista at the coffee stand.
We walk past the grocery store and head towards the hospital across the road.

"Momma!"

Sofia calls out as she runs towards Calliope, jumping into her arms.

"Hey! what are you doing here sweetie?"

she says softly as I walk toward the both of them holding my cup of coffee.

"Hey Cal"

I say standing next to her, she doesn't answer and turns around and starts walking away, holding my daughters hand without even asking if that was okay

"Callie!"

I yell as I ran after them.

"You can't just take her! today is my day you have to ask!"

I continue to yell, the whole street being able to hear me now.

"Arizona. I can take my daughter if I want."

she snaps back at me.

"Yeah? thing is- she's not."

I say done with her shit she's been pulling now that I won custody of her.

"Her last names are Sloan and Torres."

I didn't think she would ever say that to me, but it makes sense now why her lawyer said that in court.

"Oh no you did not!"

I yell snatching Sofia from her arms, I drop my coffee in the process but neither of us even notice.

"Well it's true Arizona and the sooner you accept that, the better."

"Just stop! You've said enough Callie. Stop before you go any further."

I say, as I walk to daycare with Sofia before walking around the hospital to occupy my mind.

I head to the cafeteria down the hall because there is always people there who can cheer you up, I walk into the cafeteria and look around I look over at a table near the back and I find myself to be staring at someone from my past. they're staring back at me too.

"shit."
