Chapter 3 - Dinner

Candy's POV

Finally the school day is over. I can't belive how boring it has been. It was even worse than usual. My sister is mad at me, and she have all rights to be. I have acted non-Erudite the whole day. I should go and apologize..but that would be Abnegation. This faction-thing is driving me crazy.
A half hour after we have come home I realize that I should probably be doing my homeworks. At dinner everyone will ask me about that anyway.
I open my mathbook and start working. But soon I realize how boring this thing is. How have I not understand that before? Leaders here in Erudite have tell us that before the time we choose our faction we might be uncertain on ourselves. I just never tought it would feel like that.
After I finish doing my homeworks I walk to the kitchen. My parent's has already ordered food to dinner so I don't have to worry about it. I check all the bedrooms too. Only me and my sister home, wich makes this a perfect time to go out and run.
I have been training in five years now, but it feels like days. I also take classes at martial art club. The teachers there don't like me because the fact I'm Erudite. But they have accepted me, and they agreed to not tell my parents. My father would really hate me if he found out.
I start running back to Erudite. When I reach home everyone else is already there. "Where have you been?" My mother asks. "We have waited in 30 minutes!"

After I explained the that I have 'been thinking' and totally forgotten the dinner time, we all sit down to eat.
On my other side is my twinsister London. She is identical with me. We both have long blond hair and blue eyes. We are both short and thin. Only thing that separates us is that London is wearing glasses. Every true Erudite has glasses - even if my sister is one of the few that really needs them.
Next to London is my little brother Kyle. He's eight. He has black hair and blue eyes. He's definitely Erudite. He lives for books.
On the opposite side of Kyle is our father. His name is Jonathan and he looks like a older version of Kyle. He's Erudite until blood and soul. He even works as Erudite leader, wich is a great honor. We all are a bit scared of him. He's very... powerful.
Next to father is our mother. She works with serums. Her name is Regina. She has blond hair and green eyes. She's beautiful but years with father has make her look tired (Our father never hits us but he can be quit mean). Mother has a strong spirit... even if only Amity would say so.
The last person at dinner is the youngest member of our family - Lily. She's only five and she must be the prettiest girl I've ever seen. With that black hair and green eyes she looks like an angel. She's just so kind and friendly. I know that both I and London would do anything for her.
There are two people missing from the table.
At first, Gabrielle, who chose Abnegation five years ago. No one has seen her since. She looked excactly like mother. I cried tree weeks after her.
Then Julian. He chose Dauntless last year. I have seen him a few times since that. We have even met in secret. He got 2nd in initation. He's brave. He's excactly like I want to be.
After we finished dinner I go to my room. I have been thinking about that Dauntless-girls offer the whole day. I know my family wouldn't like it. And I can't blame them. My parent's have already lose two child. Can I be so selfish that I think first on myself?
But this is no Abnegation, I say to myself. This is Erudite. Here people are selfish. And at the same time that tought reach my mind I realize that I've already made the decicion.

And I also wondered about doing a time lapse to day before aptitude test becose otherwise this story would be like 200 chapters... Is that okay?
