“Hey!” I heard from down the hall.

I turned and saw a cute boy running up to me.

“Do you know where my next class is? Could you tell me where room 118 is?” he asked, politely.

“I’ll take you there. I’m on my way by there anyway.” I offered.

He nodded his thanks and started to walk with me. I pulled my books tighter to my chest and studied him through the corner of my eye. His blond hair fell into his eyes, like it needed to be cut soon, with sun streaks in it. His shirt revealed that he was athletic and well chiseled. His lips were slightly chapped from too much sun exposure. This was a guy who lived outside, I thought as I not too sneakily studied him again. I just noticed his long eyelashes when he looked at me and caught me. I blushed and turned away when he smiled at my not too stealthiest moves.

                “So...-“

“Hey, Donna! Over here!” came a yell from in front of me.

I looked up and saw Eliza coming towards me, with Matt in tow. I waved. Eliza came up to me and stared at the guy next to me.

                “Who is this?” she asked.

                “Um....I don’t really know.”

“Oh, I’m Peter. Sorry about that,” he said, clueing in on the conversation.

“Yeah.... I’m taking Peter to his class. I guess he’s new?”

“I’m right here you know. And yes, I’m new. I just transferred from Nova Scotia.”

“Huh, so this is Peter, and he transferred from Nova Scotia,” mock whispered Eliza.

                I snorted.

“And Peter, this is our wonderful friend Donna. Don’t even try to play with her feelings, because if you do, I will come over there and rip your balls out. Or have Matt do it.”

I blushed and smacked her in the arm. I cringed as she pretended to smack me back and laughed at my expression. I growled at her and she growled back. We did that for a while until I saw Peter’s face again. He looked confused and like he wished we were more mature than this, but we weren’t. I stopped and she noticed we were in the middle of the hall still. We both laughed and waved goodbye. I continued walking towards our class, when I noticed Peter was saying something quietly.

                “What?” I asked.

He looked up, startled, as if he didn’t think I was listening. We were at his class.

“Oh, I was just trying to remember my classes for the week. This schedule is weird.”

“Oh, I have a trick for it. Maybe I’ll show you sometime.”

“Maybe,” he said as he walked in, leaving me to walk to my class alone.

After my first class, I had English. I walked in and Peter was sitting near the back. He saw and waved me to the empty seat next to him. I walked back, feeling all the stares on my back, piercing through me like glass. I sat down and got out my stuff. I didn’t look over once, but I felt his stare on me, so I focused on the teacher. Class crept on until the bell finally rung. I sat up gratefully and headed to the door. Peter stopped me before I got there. I looked at him and nodded, waiting for the rest of the class to leave.
