You Have Options!

There comes a time in about 90% of everyone's lives when they contemplate suicide, self harm, and other things. They have been pushed by something in their life, wether it be themselves, family, friends, bullies, or just their situation. And yes. I too am part of that 90%. It's a difficult thing to talk about, suicide, but things like this needs to be addressed.

When you have things going on in your life, anything at all, that makes you hurt yourself or kill yourself, there is always, always, ALWAYS another option. Social Media like iFunny, tumblr. Reddit, etc. have all developed terrible trends, which is people thinking it's okay to tell people to "go kill yourself," "you're worthless," and "no one loves you."

I'm here to prove them wrong.

When someone says "go kill yourself" to a person who is already contemplating it, it will almost always trigger their emotions and they will put the option to hurt or kill themselves into the forefront of their mind. Death will become the only thing they think about, especially if they're depressed. They will block out everything, from family, friends, counselors, teachers, nothing will matter anymore, except the thought of oblivion. And they never give a second thought to the feelings of the people who care about them. Trust me when i say that people still do care about you, whether you think they do or not.

I recently heard a quote that I will never forget, and this is it: "There is nothing you will ever be able to do that will make me love you any less."

Think about that. Close your eyes, and think hard on that phrase.

"There is nothing you will ever be able to do that will make me love you any less."

This quote can be looked at from the perspective of your family, friends, if you believe in God, look at it from him. But it rings true for every single one of them. There is NOTHING you will ever do, nothing you can royally screw up on, nothing that will stand between you, and the love your family and friends (and God, if you believe in him) have for you. Ever. I mean it.

Take their felings into account before you consider suicide, or self-harm. They're human too.

That is why suicide is a selfish act. Suicide is the statement that you truly believe that no one gives a crap about you, and commiting to it is just saying that you believe a lie. Whether you believe it or not, there will ALWAYS be at least one person who cares. Close your eyes again, and think. Out of anyone you know, who do you KNOW cares about you, and loves you? If you can't think of anyone, think harder.

Still can't find anyone? Well, I'm always here. I care about you. Seven Billion people in the world, and one person cares. Now, with that in mind, why would you ever, EVER, kill yourself? You have no excuse. One person is enough to live for. If you let down that person by ending everything because YOU want to, what kind of person are you? The one person has feelings too. Be honest, and get back to me.

Next thing  i wanna talk about, and pay attention cause this is VERY important.

THE ONLY BENEFIT OF CUTTING IS THAT IT LEAVES SCARS WITH A BACKSTORY.

Be honest. What is the real benefit of cutting your arms, legs, waist, or ankles open? Most people i know would tell me something along the lines of, "The pain distracts me from the pain i'm already feeling." I'm gonna tell you why that excuse is complete and utter BS.  There is pain, and then there is PAIN. The pain i refer to in lower case is the pain you feel when you harm yourself. It's just there, being an excuse to "relieve the pain." the PAIN i feel is the guilt. The guilt, whether it is you feeling it for cutting, or someone else feeling it for not being able to stop you from doing it. Knowing someone hurts themselves, and knowing you can't do anything about it, is possibly the worst feeling in the world. Worse than stepping on a Lego. (if you dont know the pain of stepping on one of those things, you shouldnt be reading this post.)

I have several friends who hurt themselves, and upon being asked why, they just say "because it's my choice." And they are COMPLETELY right. It is their choice. But why would you willingly make that choice?? Instead of hurting yourself, why not do something else to relieve the pain? I have a small list of things that are a good substitute for cutting, and they ALL help.

-Eating Peanut Butter
-Punching a pillow or another soft object
-Drawing and/or coloring
-Running

All of these things are a substitute for cutting yourself. And they all have psychological things that prove my point. Eating PB gives the majority of us nostaligia from when we were kids eating PB&J's as a kid with our moms. Punching a pillow releases tension and wears you out, calming your brain and allowing you to think more clearly. Drawing and coloring allows you to express creativity in the fact that no one can ever tell you you're doing it wrong. And running gives you the feeling of freedom that almost nothing else can. And all of these have the benefitting factor that while you do any of these, your mind gets taken off whatever is bothering you, while cutting simply makes you think about it more.

That's all for this chapter of the story. If you have any questions, need advice, or just need someone to talk to, you can PM me on Wattpad, Stalk me on twitter (@TheBlueBisharp) or just comment on this post. But remember. Suicide is not the option you should ever choose. It's just a loophole to avoid the pains of growing up.

        I love you all <3
