The last of the frost enemies emptied into the portal which had still refuse to close. But even then, they wouldn't come back for a while. Commander sighed in relief, Frost Spirit didn't decide to show up today. He wouldn't blame him, those Accelerators really did a number on him the last time he showed up. But now most of his Accelerators were severely injured or even more unfortunate, dead. That bastard probably had his frost minions target them.
Commander helped tend to wounded and carry in dead, which the Medics were grateful for. His squad leaders, who were all thankfully alive, tallied in their dead to their respected Commanders. Aside from himself, there was Militant Commander and a newer addition, Frost Commander. He figured they could handle what was left and so Commander went to his quarters; a makeshift tent that protected himself from the cold. Across the small amount of space, he had battle plans placed around a biggish table, cabnits filled with paper work and various forms of documents.
With a heavy sigh, Commander sat down on the simple wooden chair in front of the vanity that the Scouts put in there. At first, Commander was angry with such a waste of space. But now he was pretty grateful for it, as it gave him a chance to look himself in the mirror and think about this seemingly never ending battle. It had been weeks, maybe even a few months, but the Frost Spirit wouldn't relint and it was getting harder to get supplies and men. But if they gave up now, the frosty army would invade this world and turn it into nothing but a snowball. Not to mention that it was getting unbearably cold.
Commander placed his face into his hands and mumbled to himself, "What could even defeat that thing?" That's when something, or should I say someone, came to mind. He still had a favor to cash in. This had been years ago when he was still a young commander in training, but he had unknowingly saved one of the most feared titans in this world, Lord Sinister. It was completely on accident, but even then, Lord Sinister insisted that if Commander was in a bad situation, he would help him out. So that was when he was givin a little object and simple instructions that still rung out in Commander's ears.
So with the idea still fresh in his mind, he reached into his coat pocket and pulled a tiny gourd. It was no bigger than the base of his thumb and it held comfortably in his hand. Commander only silently prayed that this wouldn't explode his whole camp as he cleared a small space and place the gourd gently on the floor. Taking a deep breath in, Commander lifted his boot high in the air and swiftly stomped it down on top of gourd, crushing it to mush. Commander waited with eyes shut, but nothing really was going on except the hallowing wind from outside. He opened his eyes and sure enough, there was nothing but a mess on his boot now.
"God damnit...of course. It's a titan, what else would I expect?" Commander wiped his boot on the dirt floor, ticked that he gave hope to this stupid idea. What he didn't expect next was instant high rising flames to shoot up from the exact spot where the gourd was smashed. Commander screamed out in surprised and fell backwards, falling on top of some empty crates he never bothered to move out. He watched in awe as the flames widened and a figure appeared, getting more familiar as it got closer. Before his eyes, he watched as Lord Sinister, Lord of the Pumpkin Patch, stepped out of the flames and was standing right in the middle of his tent. As soon as was out, the flames ceased and nothing but a scorch mark was left.
"Long time no see, Commander! Couldn't of picked a warmer place? A bit chilly if I say," Lord Sinister offered his hand to his friend, which Commander graciously took it. "Quite an entrance you got, thought my whole camp would burn down. But leave that heat for outside, this is what I've decided to ring you up for," Commander was a bit confused on why Sinister was around the size of a normal tall burely man, but he decided that it was something titans can do, he's seen weirder. "What? You want me to be a campfire? I'd hardly call that an emergency," Sinister snickered as he watched the clear as day smile on Commander's face who was shaking their head.
"That'd be nice, but something more serious is going on," Commander's face went back to expressionless as he wanted to get straight to business, not knowing when Frost Spirit was going to come back. "I'm all for what you say, lay it on me," Lord Sinister took a seat in the chair Commander was just sitting in not long ago. "Do know anything about a small titan by the title, 'Frost Spirit'?" Commander asked, wondering if he was aware of such a foe. Lord Sinister thought and shook his head, "I know lots but the name doesn't hit. Tell me more."
"That big gapping portal out there is a gateway to the Frost Deminsion. We've been trying to defeat these guys for months, but each time that big asshole comes out, he causes tremendous damage and it retreats back through that portal whenever it doesn't like what we're giving it," Commander clinched his fist. Memories of seeing his friends and team being killed off by that monster. Lord Sinister picked up on what he wanted, "That's all you need? Ha! I'll be more than happy to help. Now, you should probably explain to them what I'm doing here." Lord Sinister looked over at the entrance of the tent, his normal smug grin widening.
Commander look over and nearly choked. There at the entrance of his tent stood almost everyone that didn't have a life threatening wound. This was going to be a long talk and it was going to be even longer for at least one of them to trust their now pumpkin alie.
Commander stepped on the stool that was prepared for him. The Engineers had detected the approaching pressense of only one entity in the portal. He was insured again and again that it was all what they had dread. It was the Frost Spirit. The towers surrounding him readied their weapons, you could feel him get closer. Commander turned on his walkie talkie and spoke into it, "I hope your ass is ready, Sinister, cause here he is."
