my mom is the biggest homophobe you'll ever meet. I thought as I walked towards her bedroom; my hands in my front pockets and bitting my bottom lip gently. I stopped and contemplated if it was even worth telling her. my eye was black, from my last fight with her only two days ago, and my hair a crazy mess of "rats nests" from the nap I'd just taken.
I knocked on her door and clenched my fists. she said nothing, so I turned to walk back. wondering why I'd even come this far in the first place. three steps away I heard the door open quickly and a loud "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?"
I rolled my eyes and turned around. She looked awful. Her eyes were sunk deep into her head like they were falling through quicksand, her skin looked.. thin, her body big, too big, her hair was slowly disappearing from stress, well I hope it's stress.
"I wanted to talk to you about something's I've had on my mind" the words sounded, almost memorized, coming out of my mouth.
she threw her body back and her 20 pound hand flipped up on her hip, "about?"
"something's I've been thinking, about my sexuality. The kind of people I li-"
"Hell no. We've had this talk a billion times Melanie J and we won't have it again"
she had the most attitude in her voice. it made me so angry.
"I'm lesbian"
my eyes went dark and I heard ringing. my eyes opened, I was on the floor. she stood above me fists up ready to throw another punch. I pushed myself up against the wall. A single tear fell.

a few hours later I call my bestfriend.
the phone rang four times and he answer.
"hello" his groggy voice welcomed me into a brand new conversation
"Brandon, you need to come get me" I struggled. My lips busted, both eyes black, and pain all over my body.
"why, what's wrong? are you alright" his voice hurried. I could hear threw the phone him searching, and finding his keys.
"I'll explain when you get here."
