A guy lying down, maybe unconscious. He's sweating a lot, like after a shower, and his lips turn blueish.
My heart was beating fast from the shock. I followed my instincts as I immediately ran to the guy on the floor, "Holy shit! Hey! Can you hear me?" I shook his body and tapped his cheeks. I was relieved when I heard a mumble, "thank God he's still alive. Call 911 now!"
"Don't!" a guy stopped the freshman girl from dialing 911, "what if the cops are here!?"
I stood up and grabbed him by the collar, "So you rather leave him dying here than get your ass caught? Is that what you're saying?!" I screamed to his face.
The guy was looking scared as he wanted to open his mouth. Mason separated us, "Call 911," Mason glancedd at the freshman and went back to me, "I can handle the cops."
I nodded and went back to the unconscious freshman. The freshman girl instantly called 911 using her phone. She listened to the operator, and she told me to do CPR while waiting for the paramedics to come, "Simon, help me!"
Simon went to the guy's head, and I started pumping his chest, remembering how to do CPR in PE lesson. Maybe it does necessary to learn CPR. I counted 1 to 30, and Simon gave two rescue breaths. We kept repeating until the paramedics came.
I felt anxiety creeping up my back to my whole body; my arm was trembling. What am I going to do if the guy dies? I whispered to myself, praying for him not to let me down. I keep pumping his chest even I'm also fighting my anxiety.
As the paramedics came, they checked the guy's status and moved him to a stretcher. I was relieved for the second time when the paramedics told us an excellent job of keeping the CPR until they came and the guy would be alright.
And before the paramedics left, they showed me a drug on the floor. They are convinced that these drugs cause the overdose. What's this? Opioids? How did Mason have this kind of drug? Isn't opioids a medical drug? I might be dumb, but we're talking about drugs.
I glanced through the entrance as I saw Mason was shaking hands with the cops. Is he trying to shut the cops? Maybe that's one of the reasons why he's never got caught with drugs.
"You guys have some dangerous drugs here. I'm not going to say anything to the cops because I know you all are having fun right now, but if I get a report again to here, I'm going have to talk to the police about this," said one of the paramedics that distract me from Mason and the police. I replied to him with a nod.
I don't know what to say. I was speechless to see unfamiliar drugs.
I remember one thing about Opioids, if you combine opioids with alcohol, something will happen. But I didn't know that it would cause overdosing. And one thing bugged me while I was doing CPR. I saw Mason just standing there watching us, the same as everybody, but he didn't have any sympathy in his face. He was starring blankly at the guy as I did CPR.
Mason went inside the house, and I pinned him to the wall. He was shocked, "Whoa, what's this? Isn't this too early? We can start with-"
"Cut the bullshit, Mason. You know what I'm going to say," I put my finger up, trying to intimidate him, but I guess it didn't work because he didn't look scared, "Is that really how you look at a person who's almost close to his dying wish?"
He sighed, "look, it's not that I don't care. That's the risk of using drugs. It's just business, Cath. I wouldn't have the right to control someone's wish, even if they wished to die."
