About a week after our visit to Mr. Alexei's home, the tea, and the short tour of the garden, everything fell back into routine. Typical errands in my house were run as per usual with my mother and sister, only now they were related to the wedding. My father continued on with business with Alexei, occasionally bringing my brother along with him, though my brother shared he spent most of his time doing work similar to Mr. Jonathan, my sister's fiance who was an assistant to my father. Acting as secretary to both Alexei and my father.
My father's plan was to include Y/B/N into the business slowly, bring him around the workplace so as to introduce him to the idea. My brother did seem, if anything, disinterested in the idea, though I couldn't tell if it was just disinterest in the business or in working with Mr. Alexei. But, he did continue with joining my father on days he was requested to come along to work, not wanting to upset or offend our father.
Today, Y/B/N was home with me for a short while, as instead of bringing him into work, Father requested he run some errands in town instead. Asking that he purchase all kinds of supplies needed for the new building which was finally ready to be worked in as of a few days ago. I was already planning on making a trip as I was still keeping in mind the book I'd been waiting to enter the bookshop as well as try to visit my cousin. So, that all being said, my brother thought it only logical for the both of us to take the same transport into town, rather than travel the forty minutes in separate carriages.
In the drive Y/B/N and I did engage in conversation seeing as we were never not close enough to talk to one another, even if it was about nothing in particular. That's when he brought up his visit to the workplace just a week before, telling me of the visions Alexei shared with him of the building.
"And you don't like this because?" I asked.
"I don't not like it, his ideas are brilliant, I just--Don't want to be involved in them. I don't want to be associated with him by any means."
I hummed, looking out at the passing roads. "What's that?" Y/B/N asked, "That 'hmmm'?"
I shrugged, shaking my head as I responded, "I just find it ironic is all."
"What?"
"That you wish to not be associated with the man yet you seem to have fancied his daughter quite a bit."
"Who? When?!" My brother asked, his voice sounded high with shock and confusion.
"Natasha Romanoff at the engagement party," I laughed, seeing my brother's cluelessness.
"Well I had no idea that was his daughter! But now that I do know, I'll--"
"You'll remain pleasant to her as well as everyone else in her family," I interrupted, "You can't treat them horribly or suddenly turn unpleasant with them just because you dislike their father. It's impetuous of you, especially seeing as you don't know anything that you spoke of before to hold any truth at all."
