Chapter 16: The Competition Begins

Alberto and Amber kept their separate ways. No texts and no calls. Alberto still practiced singing with Darla while she controlled him while Amber practiced with Tom. Tom didn't want to love Amber and he wanted to tell her what Darla was doing but he waited for the right time and place to do it. He just wanted to be Amber's friend. Finally, it was the day of the competition. Alberto looked at his suit and adjusted it. He sighed at the thought of Amber. Giulia and Luca had avoided Alberto cause he hurt Amber's feelings.

Meanwhile, Darla was prepping herself for her big show and Hades was with her, thinking about Eris. "Hades, where are Whiskers and Three Eyes? I told them to wait by the door to bodyguard me," Darla demanded. Suddenly Ercole burst through the door. "Is it here?!" Ercole asked excitedly. "It's here," Darla grinned as she gave Ercole a pink harpoon with a sharp heart shaped tip. "A little gift from me to you," Darla winked. Ercole could contain his excitement. Tom walked in looking sharp as well. "You guys know the plan. Once I cheat and make all the votes for me, I will unleash my powerful love using The Diamond of Love throughout the whole Tooniverse! Everyone will love me, turn to zombies, and try to destroy all the girls so that I get my wish!" Darla laughed evilly. "You three need to keep guard and make sure nobody messes this up! Got it?" Darla said as all 3 nodded. "Good. Now where's Alfonso?!" Darla said. There was a knock on the door as Darla opened it. Alberto sheepishly held flowers toward Darla. "Alfonso! So nice of you!" Darla said tickling Alberto's chin. Alberto was in a trance yet again and followed Darla around lovingly.

Meanwhile, Sofia was getting Amber ready for the show. Amber sighed thinking about Alberto. "It's okay Amber, do you need some time to yourself?" Sofia asked her. "Yeah sure," Amber sighed. Sofia left and closed the door. Sofia walked through the hallway and noticed something on the ground. It was a pink glove. She had seen this before and in front of it was a trail of pink glitter. She followed the trail until it got to a door. Sofia peeked through the crack and saw Darla talking to someone. Ercole turned around but Sofia hid. She looked closer at who Darla was talking to and Sofia saw that it was Alberto but something was different about him. She saw a necklace on Darla glowing pink. Then came to the realization that Alberto wasn't really in love with Darla. He was put under a love spell! "I think we have a snooper," Hades said as the door opened and Sofia was revealed. "A spy! Get her!!!" Darla yelled as Ercole grabbed Sofia. "You won't get away with this!" Sofia yelled. As she was escorted out, Sofia noticed a diamond similar to the one her friends were talking about. Suddenly, she got thrown into the janitors closet. "Ciao princess," Ercole said as he locked Sofia in the closet. Sofia tried to bust herself out but she couldn't. The show was about to start so Darla prepped up her dress and said, "Let the show begin," grinning evilly.
