"MOM?"
"MIKASA?"
"ANYBODY?"
I was laying on the floor, my hands and legs tied together, blindfolded. "I said don't talk!" The mysterious voice slurred as I felt a strong, masculine hand slap my right cheek.
"DONT HURT HIM" I hear a very familiar feminine voice call from the other side of the room.
MIKASA.
"I said don't talk! Say another word and you're both done for." The man says as I hear a click.
"MOM, MIKASA, YOU GUYS NEED TO-"
Last I remember was a loud gun shot, and the world around me started to fade away.
I can't remember anything that happened after that. But now, here I am, waking up with a man at my bedside.
As my vision starts to clear, I see the man that I always see sitting alone at the coffee shop. I think his name was Levi.
He was sitting at my bedside, with a blank face, staring at me. "Oh, you're finally awake" he says, looking away.
"What happened..? And why are you here?" I asked. And then, it dawned on me. "WHERE IS MY MOM AND MIKASA?" I screamed. Everyone in the hallway nearby heard and several nurses scurried into the room. "Is that orphan awake?" Someone whispers.
My eyes grew wide. "W-what?" I say, stuttering as I lay back into the hospital bed as tears start to stream down my face. "That can't be." One doctor came forward and looked me straight in the eyes. "One of your neighbors reported hearing a gun shot. When the police got there, your mom and sister were dead. But fortunately, you were still breathing, but in terrible condition."
The doctor walked over to Levi by my bedside and put his hand on his shoulder. "This man came forward to pay for your surgery."
I looked at Levi as he looked at me and put his hand atop mine. "Everything is going to be okay."
-.-.-.-.-.-
Two days later I was released from the hospital. I decided to go home with Levi. Since my dad had gone missing years ago and now everyone I loved is dead, I was all alone now. Somebody was required to watch me because of my terrible health condition and Levi had offered.
"Thanks a lot Levi." I say as we drive home. "No problem." He says, looking into my eyes and smiling a faint smile. "Why did you pay for all of this anyways?" I asked, looking at the floor of the car. "Well, I saw it on the news, and I recognized you from the coffee shop. I've been through the same situation and nobody was there for me when I needed someone, so I thought helping you would be the right thing to do." He said, obviously blushing as he tried hiding it.
I pretended not to see him blushing and continued on with the conversation. "I suggest you stay at my place for a while. You're going to need some help before you can get back up on your feet." He said, with a blank expression on his face.
I turned and looked into his eyes. Even with the most boring, emotionless face ever, I could see a twinkle in his eye. Something about this guy is special. I don't know what yet, but I'm going to find out.
The rest of the car ride was complete silence. I stared down at the carpeting of his car, not knowing what to say or do. I wanted to start up a conversation. I wanted to get to know him better. But I just stayed quiet and enjoyed the view from the car as the sun set over the horizon.
Soon enough, we arrived at a big house, isolated from all of the others. The two story house sat upon a hill, overlooking a field of nothingness. It looked like a peaceful place to be.
"Is this place all yours?" I said, looking at Levi as he started to park the car in the drive way. "Yeah, it was passed on to me from my parents. Nobody else lives here, so it's just me." He said, parking the car and taking the keys in the palm of his hand.
I started to open the door but Levi had stopped me. "Don't. Let me." He said as he popped the trunk and unfolded the wheelchair. He pulled the wheelchair next to me, and helped me get out of the car seat and into the wheelchair. He locked the car, and wheeled me into the house.
After giving me a general tour of the house, he wheeled me into the guest bedroom. "Uhh.. Levi..?" I hesitated, avoiding eye contact. "What is it Eren?" He replied curiously. I could imagine he had a worried look on his face but all I was looking at was the floor. "I was wondering if... If.. I could sleep with you.." I said, looking in his direction. He immediately lit up. His face turned a bright shade of red "yeah, sure, of course!"
As the sky turned dark and the stars lit up the night sky, Levi helped me into his bed gently. "What do you need? Water? Food? Extra pillows? Anything." He said willingly. "I think I'm fine for now, but thank you Levi." I said, smiling. "I'll be right back" he said as he exited the room.
I couldn't believe all of this was happening. It was all happening so fast. Levi is a good person for doing this. I can't imagine anybody else that I would rather have by my side.
Levi came back a couple minutes later in a loose black t-shirt and a pair of gray pajama pants. He laid beside me in the bed and pulled the covers over his body.
The next moment, we both turned over to face each other and our eyes met. He immediately grabbed ahold of my body and pulled mine closer to his.
"I love you Eren." He said, as our lips touched.
