𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 5 - A Ray Of Hope

The day of the match had arrived, and the Seishou Academy Stadium was abuzz with excitement.

"Raimon has completely changed its lineup from the previous year!" the commentator announced

"[L/N] [F/N], a former member of the Raimon soccer club, is among the new team members" he continued

"But why isn’t she playing in today’s match? Will the coach bring her in during the second half? We’ll have to wait and see. For now, let’s focus on the game!"

"Their opponent is none other than the tournament’s favorite, Seishou Academy!"

"In the practice match that determined the ranking race, Seishou Academy crushed Teikoku Academy to claim the top rank!" the commentator said, his tone reflecting the tension in the air.

Trainer Kameda, standing near the bench, turned to the coach, his voice laced with frustration.

"The result was obvious before the game even started! How could you pit these kids against a team like Seishou Academy? Are you trying to destroy them?"

"And why isn’t [L/N] playing? If you put her in, we might actually stand a chance!" Kameda added

I stepped in, trying to calm him down. "Trainer Kameda, even if the coach puts me in, there’s no guarantee we’ll win or that I can score"

I continued "I think it’s better for the team to play and show what they’re capable of. We need to understand their strengths and weaknesses first"

Kameda frowned but said nothing more

The whistle blew, and the commentator’s voice boomed over the stadium

"It’s begun! Raimon versus Seishou Academy!"

I watched from the bench as my teammates fought valiantly. Goujin managed to slip past two Seishou players and passed the ball to Asuto. With a quick back pass to Kozoumaru, the opportunity was clear.

Kozoumaru executed with Gouenji  signature Fire Tornado, scoring the first goal of the match.

"They did it! Raimon has taken the lead!" the commentator exclaimed.

"I can’t believe it. We’re actually ahead" Trainer Kameda muttered in disbelief

But the celebration was short-lived. Within minutes, Seishou Academy retaliated with a barrage of goals, quickly racking up ten points.

|End of the First Half|

"We’re finished," Hiro said, slumping in defeat

"We won’t get to play soccer anymore" Han-chan murmured, tears brimming in her eyes

"It ended all too soon" Mansaku added, his voice heavy with despair

"Why are you all giving up so easily?" Asuto said, his voice filled with determination

"Soccer won’t abandon us. As long as we don’t give up, we’ll get another chance!"

His words hung in the air, but the mood remained somber.

|Later That Day|

"Hey, I know!" Asuto suddenly exclaimed, trying to lift everyone’s spirits

"Since we’re already in Tokyo, why don’t we go sightseeing? Let’s check out the Tokyo Sunshine Tower!"

He turned to me with a grin. "[F/N], you’ll come too, right? Of course, you will!"

I chuckled softly "Sure, why not?"

"Great idea!" Norika said, her enthusiasm breaking through the gloom
