Black or White

Chapter 1

When it started

In the countryside of Europe, 1939. There lived a 13 year old girl, Ariana Bell, she has long brown hair, blue eyes, light skin, she wears a long woollen brown dress. She is a shy type of girl and is constantly being told by her parents to always smile and look happy to be there. Since she is coming to the age of having a boyfriend and since her mum and dad have lost some money, they are going to introduce her to a rich white boy about her age who's family is rich. Shes never really had a social live. She loves the outdoors running though the fields makes her feel alive, chasing the birds, hopping with the rabbits and sitting under trees just watching the life in front of her. Sometimes she goes there to escape everything her parents always expected a lot more from her, sometimes she cries herself to sleep. In her dreams she imagines not feeling so alone having different parents who love her and don't yell at her if she messes up and having a sister or a brother or even BOTH! Shes been home schooled her whole life.So she doesn't really have any friends, but the one person she can always count on is her cat Phoebe. Phoebe has brown fur and a white stomach. Shes always there for Ariana, she might not be able to answer her questions, but shes great when it comes to listening. But she does have one friend who lives 3 doors down from her, his name is Joey he's 14 years old, he has short blond hair, light skin, green eyes. Joey is the son of Ariana's dads best friend.

A way back in the city there lived a 14 year old boy Will Green, he has medium length black hair that comes down as a curl, big brown eyes and wears a plain white t-shirt and a pair of brown trousers and dark soft skin. He's one of those boys who can stand up for himself but he's kind hearted. His parents love and care for him there is nothing that they wouldn't do for him. But you see there is something wrong with this picture, they are having some problems with money, sometimes they have to go about a week without food, but they can always find water in the nearby lake, the water might not be clean but it's better than nothing. Wills father sadly passed away a few years ago.

Since the last few weeks or so all of the news headlines has been about a war ,we know that because about 9 months ago Adolf Hitler made a speech all about the Jews

In the country where Ariana was close to fainting while reading the morning newspaper, just hearing that a war will start soon that means that she will be moved around a lot and she might lose someone that she loves very much.Then she ran through to the kitchen to tell her mum Isabella (she has long curly blond hair, green eyes and has light skin wears a white lace blouse a brown long skirt with a brown belt) and her dad John (he has short black hair, blue eyes and has light skin wears a white shirt, a blue tie, a blue suit and black shorts he runs the soldiers. When she told them the news they already knew about it so Isabella grabbed the paper off of her and threw it in the bin. Ariana realised that there is no real point in her being there, because her mum and dad didn't even realise that she was there.

Wills mother Paige has short brown hair, black eyes, dark skin and wears a black dress.Will also has a younger sister Elizabeth. Elizabeth has short black hair and has dark skin. Will was out for his daily walk, he walks along this road to remind him that he is quite lucky because when people think of a poor people they think that they done this to themselve, because they think that they are very bad people so they can't afford any thing, that it was the choices that they made. But you see if only they would take just a second of their time then they would see that they will be the kindest people that they would ever have met. Will dosen't just go on a walk to remind him he also goes out to visit his best friends dad, the reason he goes round there is not to see his best friend because his bestfriend tragically died 4 years ago in a car crash, and ever since he had been going round there to give him food, drink and some books that he had finshed because he has no money to take care of himself. When he got there he saw a him sitting on the floor of what used to be a building that caught on fire and burnt to the ground. The he is called Peter Scott he only had one eye because a nail went into it because he used to be a builder, he was wearing a thick top and a thick long sleeved jumper with a thin coat and on his bottom half black long trousers with black shoes, he had green eyes and no hair. He was sitting alone reading a book when Will walked over to him with a smile and a bag of goodies. "Peter?" Will said when he got to him.

Germany started World War II by invading Poland on September 1, 1939.Britain and France responded 2 days later by declaring war on Germany on September 3. Within a month, Poland was defeated by a combination of German and Soviet forces and was partitioned between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. The world was devastated to know that from that day forward world war II was a reality.

The next day at 2:30am Ariana was awoken by a plane flying across the top of her house, she jumped up from her bed and she realised that Pheobe was not in her bed, Ariana thought that the plane must have scared her. So she went back to sleep,5 hours later Ariana's mum and dad, Isabella and John got up, got dressed and washed. When they got out to the hallway they found Pheobe asleep all scrunched up in a wee ball in the hall. When they were down the stairs, and said to the housekeper that she is to look after Arianna for the next week and she'll get a £2,000 tip. So she said yes, then Isabella and John got into to car and drove out of the country. When Ariana awoke at 9:30am, she brushed her hair and teeth and changed.She walked out on her balcony when she looked over it she noticed that her mum and dads car was gone. She wondered who was looking after her so she ran down the stairs to see, she was so exited that it was the housekeper because she dozen care what she dose as long as shes their at 12:00am for lunch 7:00pm for diner 10:00pm for bed and for breakfast at whatever time she wakes up at. So she sat down and enjoyed some tost and a glass of milk. After that she ran out of the door with no one (when her mum and dad is watching her someone has to be with her 24/7) she was so glad to get some freedom for once.

When Will walked back home, his mum had a very sad look on her face.She said that while he was with Peter a solider came round everone to see if anybody had kids and if they did then they where to be on the first train in to the country to be evacuated!Tears came to Wills face as he droped down on his knees and fell on his side and clossed his eyes.As he lay their Elizabeth ran over to him put her hands on his left arm and yelled !MUM MUM MUM MUM!Paige ran over to him lifted him up and went into a very small dark and depressing home that they own. She laied him down on his bed/couch, but befor she could wake him up a nock was on the door. Paige went over and opened the door it was the solider again saying Will and Elizabeth had to go now, on the train and go to the country.Paige said that when she told him that Will had passed out and is lying on his bed,he said that is ok i can carry him because if they don't go now then they can't go and will not be safe.When he woke up on the train with Elizabeth he asked where were they going, she said that they are being evacuated, Will's face shone with sadness and longeness.

2 days later Ariana has been going down to the fields every day but something felt a little different today. When Arianna got to the gate she stopped, and slowly opened it then she ran down the 10 steps and out into the fields as she ran she felt a rain of glowray and freedom.When the train pulled in at the stashon Will walkted off with a worried face on.They went around with all of the

evacuees in a group they went around each door that had a spare bed, but know-one was interested in them.When it came to just the two of them the women nocked on a door within a few seconds a big, toll and scary man opened the door the women said that since he had two extra beds and that he needs some help around the farm he had no choice but to take them.It took him a few minuets but he said yes, as soon as they unpacked Will went out to the fields and sat under a tree in the shad. Ariana looked over and sow a boy, he looked sad she thought that he must be one of the evacuees' she wondered what to do, should she go over and say hello or not borer.She chose to talk to him as she walked he looked up and said "sorry am i in your spot?" in a scared tone, but you could see it in his eyes that he was nice, "Ariana is my name" she said in a smile, "and no you are not in my spot"."Ok then ... hello Ariana i'm Will" "hello Will nice to meet you".
