Semporna, Sabah. Where the serene and beautiful landscapes overlap the tranquil lake. Many tired citizens began making their way home.

Off the rear of the town's high school, a teen pedalled his bike, rushing past green fields of grass on the way home. He was never late for dinner, and he wouldn't be now either.

He had only finished competing at the Math Olympiad competition, and couldn't wait any longer.

Arriving at the porch of the house, he hopped off his bike and dashed straight through the corridors.

Mom announced, "Dinner's ready Dhruv, please come down and set the table."

As soon as Kumar, his dad, got back, Dhruv broke the news. His parents congratulated him during dinner for the medals he won at the competition.

"Wonderful work, son. Even better news, You will be leaving for university tomorrow! I've already assigned you to stay and study at a university in Semenanjung. Accommodations and living expenses have already been paid for." Kumar exclaimed.

"I know we planned to take a month for you to rest first but-" Kumar tried to continue but Dhruv interjects.

"What? Why didn't you tell me earlier? I had plans to hang out with my friends here before the university semester starts! Why do you always make plans for me without asking me what I think?" Dhruv complained with a frustrated look.

He sighed and took a long pause before continuing, "I'm trying to prepare you for the world ahead and I'm your father. Things in life never go as planned, and THIS might be something you will encounter one day."

Sighing, Dhruv stomped to his room, locked the door behind him, and started packing.

After a 3-hour car ride from the airport, Dhruv makes it to the entrance of the university.

He starts sightseeing around the compound's vicinity. He's mesmerised by the tall buildings and concrete landscape, the opposite of what he grew up with in Semporna. He smiles to himself, knowing he'll enjoy the upcoming 2 years of his life.

He walks through the entrance and tries to find the receptionist to get some directions. Walking around the campus site, he notices there aren't many people around.
