*A Real Work Of Art*

I woke up this morning, ready, for the first time. I felt good. It was the first day of my junior year, so what could happen? Everyone probably forgot. No one, not even Kayla was getting in my way today. Not Justin, not Jacob, not even Kaitlyn. Glancing around my room, I decided, why not? I'll dress up today even if it kills me.

The miniskirt was perfect! Purple (my favorite color) with black lace swirls, it reached just above my knees, long enough to be "modest" but short enough to show my long, tanned legs. The shirt was a gray Hollister v-neck. It gave everyone something to hint at, if you catch my drift!

"'Zanna? Can I.... come in?" a sweet voice said.

"Of course you can, Kylie! Now, tell me honestly, do you think I look good?"

My little sister came in, her eyes widening as she peeked in behind the door. Then, she squealed. "Sissy! You turned pretty again!"

I should explain. I was popular, really popular. I had a great life, straight A's, a boyfriend, a best friend, and Kylie. The whole perfect deal. I should have realized no one's perfect. I didn't and did some stuff. I messed up big time. I thought though that all would be forgiven. But, my "friends" were mean. They were horrible actually. We stopped being friends and I got depressed.

My blue-eyed brunette look turned dull and my eyes turned blue-gray. Nothing could get me to get back on the life train, not Mom, not Dad, not Joe, not even Kylie.

The only thing that stayed the same was Kylie. She never gave up, not ever! She told me one night, "I'm gonna fix you, 'cause maybe then you'll love me again."

And I gave in, to that little heart that was my sun.

Kylie is my little four-year old daughter. She is a blue-eyed blonde haired little angel. She'll always try to protect me no matter what, and she can be a real devil when she wants to be! She has a cheery personality to and she can cheer me up from anything. There's one catch.

Kylie has cancer.
