Commander's Love

Chapter 4- It is you

She woke up early in the morning preparing for her training. While on her way to the training area, Daniel bumped into her.

"Eve, are you going to the training area?"

"Yes you? It's still early why are you already awake?"

"Ah you know, I want to practice early too because I'm still new to this."

They went to the training area together and Daniel saw her bow. He was amazed because he doesn't know how to use it.

"Oh Eve, I see that your weapon is a bow. Can you teach me how to use it?" He said like a child waiting for its parents permission.

"Ofcourse, Go get yours a bow and arrow."

"..."

"I'll first teach you how to handle it carefully and properly." She stands straight, retracted her right foot and body sideward, she raised her hands while holding the bowgrip on her left hand and pull the bowstring on her right hand.

"You need to align your arm to your collarbone." Daniel excitedly obeyed her and copy what she was doing.

"Place your right hand at your breast bone as you pull the bowstring...yes that's right. Then, pick up your arrow. Place it under the knocking point, only your index, middle and ring finger should hold the string."

Daniel was amazed by her, he was listening carefully to what she was saying.

"Aim at your right eye if you are right handed then close your other eye, focus on the target and keep looking at the center of the gold. Then... release."

They both release their arrow at the same time, Daniel's arrow land on the blue ring. He was distracted to his shot and got disappointed, he didn't even notice her shot. The smile on his face faded as he saw where his arrow landed.

"It's fine, you know... it's not bad for a beginner. When I first do this I hit nothing." As she comfort him they both laughed. Just now, he noticed her shot and his eyes widened.

"D-did...you shot this?" He said in shock and confusion while pointing at the target board. Amethyst just smile and nodded her head.

"H-how... can a woma-...how can you shot the gold in your first attempt!" He can't believe what he was seeing.

"I practiced a lot to get that shot." She said as if she was doing archery for a long time.

"Wow...I really can't believe it. Are there any weapon you are good at?"

"Just this...sword is not my thing. But, if there's a chance I would like to learn it."

"Don't worry Eve, I will teach you some other time."

The other knights one by one came into the training area with a shock in their eyes then separately practice their sword. Apollo came last and saw her shot on the target board.

'I now know why Commander wants you to join the Phoenix Elite.' He said in his mind while looking at Amethyst.

"Okay, for todays training just partner yourself with other then practice your sword."

"Sir Dixon, will our Archeress also use a sword?" The knight asked while laughing and the others started laughing.

"Yes...but not now. She will focus on her archery skill first."

They began to practice as time goes by, A tall man with huge physique , black hair and golden eyes entered the training area.

Amethyst stiffened in her stance as she wander what did that man doing in the Citadel City.

'What is he doing here? Is he a new recruit too?'

"Greetings Commander Adelard!" All of the knights greet him and Phoenix was looking at her.

'C-commander?...the hell'

"Continue what you are doing." He commanded them then walk towards her whose still standing in shock.

"Seems like you don't know how to greet a man who save your life."

"A-ah... G-greetings Commander Adelard!" She then bowed her half body and Phoenix laughed in his mind.

"I thought you would decline my offer."

"Not a chance Commander Adelard, you save my life. So, I owe it to you. I'm honored to join the Phoenix Elite." She lifted her head as she looked at his bright golden eyes.

'How could he have such beautiful eyes.'

"Seems like I owe you a lantern too." He smirked and her heart began to pound fast like it wants to get off her chest.

"Ah no, don't worry about it Commander Adelard."

'I want to keep teasing her'

"Fine then, continue what you are doing." He turn around then walked to his place opposite to her and arrange his sword.

'What am I thinking?' He can't keep his eyes not to take a look at her. Apollo reach him when he was about to drew his sword from his scabbard.

"Commander Adelard, a messenger from the royal palace came earlier and pass me a parchment scroll. I placed it in your desk at your office."

"I'll check it later and we'll have a meeting."

'That King never forgot to give me a bullshit task.'

Lunch had passed, Phoenix went to his office. He opened the parchment scroll that was came from the royal palace and read it.

'He's giving me a task and he wants me to do it as fast as possible? That darn king.' His jaws clenched in annoyance.

He ordered his butler 'Victor' whose currently pouring a tea in his cup to prepare a meeting in an hour in the conference room.

While reading his other document Amethyst keeps popping in his head.
'What the hell is she doing popping in my head at this moment?'

Phoenix can't figure out what's happening to him as he sipped his tea. He's the man who don't have and can't have a feelings towards women. No matter how intimate and passionate he is to women he can't just feel a 'love' towards them. So from the very start he just got fling and sex to whoever he wants to. When he gets bored he would break their ties then find a new one to be his bed partner.

With his beautiful figure, every woman has fallen for him and some would fallen for his wealth and power. He's giving them what they wished like jewelries and more in exchange for their body. Except one that he can't give, his 'love'.
