I sat in her room, tending to Izzy as she laid in pain on her bed. "I'm so sorry I didn't see this sooner." I felt so guilty not paying more attention.

"I would've done it anyway, B. I- I can't help it." She shivered. "It's so addicting and makes you feel..." She coughed, "Amazing."

"I saw someone with the same addiction  when Valentine had me, he was killed for allowing a vampire to drink his blood of course. But still. You're my best friend and I should've done more to help."

"I'll be okay." She tried smiling at me, paler than death and sweating like she was continuously running a marathon.

A knock sounded on the door.

"I'll get it." I told her, walking over and slightly opening it so they could only see me. "Yes?" I asked the Shadowhunter.

"Alec sent me to let you know your grandmother is here." I smiled widely.

"Thank you." I dismissed him and walked over to Izzy, "I'm going to see my grandmother but I'll be back to check on you soon, are you going to be okay?"

She nodded profusely, "I'll be fine, you and Alec exaggerate. Go see the Inquisitor." She waved me off and I walked, hesitantly, to the door. Looking over at the brunette once more, worry coursing through my veins.

I tried shaking it off so I didn't look suspicious when I saw my grandmother. And seeing her face, made my smile. While a lot of people were afraid of her, I wasn't. It made me feel powerful, being apart of her family and being a Herondale. And there was a way about how she carried herself that because we were related, made me feel like I could do anything, although I know she didn't always have such rough edges, from my mothers journals.

I didn't want to share with her my thoughts on what Valentine had said about Jace, I didn't know what to exactly think and I tried to not let it bother me until I had more information.

"Inquisitor Herondale," I greeted, still anxious about calling her grandma. She let out a light laugh, something her security obviously wasn't used to.

"How many times do I tell you, its Inquisitor Grandma." Again, another laugh from the both of us before she waved her hand at me, "Please call me grandmother if you're comfortable with it. I never tired of hearing it when you were just a child." I nodded, and we pulled each other into a hug before separating.

"I assume you are here for him, then?" I asked.

"As much as I do love seeing you, I'm afraid I am here strictly on Clave  business with Valentine. We need the Cup and he has the answers on where it is. It is just a matter of giving them to us." I nodded at her response. "Care to join?" It was as if she read my mind, because as much as I was afraid of him before, I craved seeing him captured, in pain, etc.

"I think me joining you would be beneficial to myself and my healing." I followed her to the cell Valentine was in, but on our way I did happen to notice Jace and Alec sparring. And when the raven-haired man glanced over, I snuck him a wink before carrying on and letting out a soft giggle to myself when my distracting him caused Jace to have an opening in winning the match.
