the family landed in michigan a while ago, and have at last checked into their hotel rooms. liam had booked only two rooms, one for he and zayn, the other for the boys. because there isn't any way they were going to get three separate rooms to themselves. they'd only end up fighting over which room they'd have—just like they did on the plane—and complain about who got the better or bigger room. so to avoid that conflict, liam got them one room together with two beds. unfortunately, he couldn't find any bigger ones with more beds.
of course the three of them still fought over who was going to share a bed with who. that ended up concluding with harry sharing a bed with niall. mainly because louis and harry can't seem to get along, and zayn got fed up with their bickering. and now that it has been cleared up, the family got settled in their rooms. very soon they had planned to go out and take a look around, see what there was to do, get the fun started.
it's a little past three o'clock, so there was still plenty of daylight and plenty of time to go out and enjoy the sunlight. once everyone felt ready to go, the five of them headed out. they exited the hotel, went outside onto the sidewalk out front. the air was hot, but there was a nice breeze that brushed past them in the direction of the ocean that could be seen from where they were standing. good thing liam thought to get a hotel that was close to the beach, as well as other sightseeing places in the surrounding area.
most of them can be reached on foot, and they didn't have to drive as much which was great. there were a cluster of places to go nearby the hotel they passed as they walked on the sidewalk; thrift shops, antique shops, small cafes, coffee shops, etc. harry walks out in front of everyone, with a bounce in his step, all jittery and happy. liam and zayn followed, walking side by side, whilst the louis and niall dragged behind.
louis has his earphones plugged in, listening to music, walking with his hands stuffed in his pocket. and niall is on his phone, texting away. liam's scouting out everything as they bypass them, wondering what would be nice to check out first. there were a lot of choices so far, he was conflicted. there were plenty of things he saw that he wanted to do, but then he didn't know if the boys would like it. but, soon they stumbled upon a gift shop that really caught liam's eye. it would probably be a good place to purchase some souvenirs to take home.
