A Gift To Jiang Cheng

It has been days since the thought crossed Wei Wuxian's mind.

And that thought both terrified and excited him.

"Lan Zhan!"

Startling his husband, he did not expect him to be full of energy this morning as the two lay in bed.

"What is it?"

"How expensive is it getting a dog?"

Out of all the ridiculous things his husband has said, this had got to be the top tier. Why was his husband asking about getting a dog? He's terrified of them!

"Wei Ying?"

"Ah, I should explain myself before stating I wanted to buy a dog. I've been thinking and one thing I really want to do is makeup with my shidi. Since I've died and come back, we have yet to mend each other's relationship and I want to fix it... So I figured, what better way to do that than by getting him something he loves! I would never want a dog, I'm happy with our bunnies!"

Seeing what his husband was now asking, Lan Wangji could calm his racing heart.

He didn't want a dog for himself but rather for Jiang Wanyin.

"Depends on the dog"

Lost in thought, Wei Wuxian knew nothing about dogs other than the one Jin Ling had. He had avoided them at every bark whether or not there were there.

Perhaps he should ask his nephew for advice...

"You want to buy jiujiu a dog!? Are you insane! You can't even be near my dog! What makes you think you can just stroll up to a dog seller and buy one without running away when it simply barks!"

Sect Leader Jin had a point.

However, he couldn't help but give in to his other's jiujiu doe eyes as he was begging him for help.

"Fine, I'll help you but before we go dog shopping, you need to get used to them. Fairy!"

Hearing his master call for her, fairy sprinted to Jin Ling and the moment she saw Wei Wuxian, she went to say hi.

A terrified shriek greeted her along with the man jumping into Sect Leader Jin's arms.

"Get off of me"

"Scary dog"

Rolling his eyes, Jin Ling shoved his uncle off of him and smirked when he landed on his butt.

"Fairy is highly trained and won't do anything unless I tell her or if she feels that we are in danger. You're perfectly fine, now get up"

If he wanted to give his shidi a gift, he knew he needed to at least be able to tolerate hanging around dogs and Jin Ling was right, he couldn't handle being near Fairy.

Crawling to hide behind Jin Ling's legs, he could not stop shaking as memories of dogs flooded his mind.

"Jiujiu?"

Jin Ling was well aware of his uncle's fear of dogs but he had no idea just how far deep his fear was rooted in.

Hearing his nephew call out for him, Wei Wuxian forced himself to focus on trying to get over his fear of dogs. At least Fairy was trained and wouldn't hurt him unless Jin Ling wanted her to. So getting up, he mentally prepared himself for what was to come.

"Okay. Okay. What should I do?"

Seeing how quickly his jiujiu got up and prepared himself, Jin Ling felt pride swelling through his body.
