Chapter 12

"Looking for this?" Lisa asked Rosé while showing her the phone. "Why do you have that?" Rosé asked back. "My pants was spilled with coffee so I was looking for some wipes in your bag and then I came across this," Lisa explained. "Why are you having 2 phones?" Lisa suspiciously asked. "It's the new company phone. Why not check it? The password is 5454," Rosé calmly explained. Lisa typed the password and was able to access the phone. "See, all empty. I haven't use that yet," Rosé explained. "I'm sorry," was all Lisa said and returned the phone to Rosé. "It's okay. Want to watch a movie later?" Rosé asked lighting the mood. "Yeah! I can make nachos. You want?" Lisa excitedly asked. "That would be great," Rosé replied. "I will wait you downstairs," Lisa said and went ahead. 

Rosé felt relieve after her conversation with Lisa. Suddenly, Kai called her new phone. Due to panic, she cancelled the call immediately. 

The next day, Kai went directly to Rosé's office. "Why aren't you answering my calls? Kai asked worriedly. "I'm with my wife. Didn't we agreed that you won't call me until you'll notify me first?" Rosé irritatedly said. "Okay I'm sorry. I'm really really sorry. It's just that I miss you so much," Kai explained and was about to hug Rosé. "Kai, we're in the office," Rosé stopped him. "Okay, I'll behave. I'll make the most with you when we're in Busan," Kai said. "Can we postpone that trip? I have so many things to do," Rosé made an alibi. "Rosé baby, we already planned this for a long time. You promised that we will push throught it. You're hesitating. I know this isn't about work, it's about your wife," Kai sadly said. "I think she's getting suspicious," Rosé confessed. "But she won't know," Kai insisted. "What if her sister Tzuyu will tell her? She once saw us. She asked who you are so I have to lie about your name," Rosé argued. "Why did you lie to her? You could have just told her the truth cause a matter of fact, I'm really your client," Kai clarified. "I'm not like you. I'm not used of telling lies. You know, it's better we end this. Lisa has been so sweet to me lately and..."Rosé said but was cut off. "Your wife is like that for now. But you'll see later on she will neglect you again. Rosé c'mon, you even said she'll be sweet to you, she'll take care of you, and then something will happen in the restaurant and she will forget you, all over again," Kai tried to convince her while holding her hand. "How about me? Did I ever changed? Every time you need me, I'm here for you. I am always available for you. You know you need me, you need us," Kai added. 

"Rosé, I'll go ahead," Jisoo bid goodbye. "By the way Chu, these are the plans for the Wilson Project. Just talk to them okay? And if ever Lisa will call just tell her I'm in Busan, work related," Rosé told Jisoo. "Are you going with that man? Rosé please, don't ruin your marriage. You've been with Lisa for so long," Jisoo advised her. "Yeah. And most of the time, she's neglecting me," Rosé bitterly said. "But she's fixing everything now, right?" Jisoo argued. "For now, yes. But god knows until when she'll be like that. What if tomorrow she's back to her old self again?" Rosé defended which earned a scoff from Jisoo. "So you're keeping Kai as your spare tire?" Jisoo sarcastically asked. "You won't understand cause you're not married yet," Rosé answered. "Oh c'mon, of course I understand. I don't have to be married to understand that. Me and Hae-in have our ups and downs but it never crossed my mind to have another affair," Jisoo annoyingly said. "The way you talk, it seems you really know what I feel. Being married is different from the boyfriend/girlfriend thing. You have to consistently work on marriage because if you neglected your partner, marriage will crumble, everything will crumble. And Jisoo, that's what you don't understand," Rosé said with tears in her eyes. "Cousin, maybe I don't understand. But I'm your family, you're my family. Whatever happens, I'll have your back. But please for your sake, stop it," Jisoo sincerely said. 

Rosé was at their balcony waiting for Lisa to be home. She's contemplating on what Jisoo said. But Kai's statement of being always there for her marked in her head. Lisa then arrived.

"Hon, I'm sorry I'm late. I wanted to call but there's so many customers in the..." Lisa explained but was cut off. "Food is already cold," Rosé said disappointedly.

"Cold? There's no problem. I'll just make some more. Let's watch that movie, okay?" Lisa said cheering her up. "Never mind, I'll be early tomorrow," Rosé said not interested.

"Why?" Lisa asked wondering. "I need to go to Busan. I'll be checking on a project. It's just an overnight anyway," Rosé said flatly.

"Overnight? But why?" Lisa asked again. "I'll be meeting a contractor the following day," Rosé explained.

"Where will you stay?" Lisa asked curiously. "In the hotel," Rosé replied shortly.

"Rosé, honey, are you mad?" Lisa walked over to Rosé and kissed her head. "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry. I will make it up to you when you come back. I know you'll tell me that it's always like this. There are instances that I would disappoint you, upset you. But everytime that happens, I will always make it a point to make it up to you. I won't surrender, that I promise you," Lisa said from her heart.

"I'm sorry," Rosé said as she started to cry. "I'm sorry? Sorry for what?" Lisa asked. "For everything. I also have my shortcomings Lisa," Rosé said still crying.

"Honey, you don't have any shortcomings. You are perfect, okay? Believe me when I say it," Lisa comforted her. "How about I'll just help you pack for your trip to Busan. And when you get back, let's talk about having a baby," Lisa happily said. Rosé can't stop crying and just nodded. 

"My love, if someone calls about work related just tell him/her to contact my secretary, okay? And don't let anybody get inside our house," Kai reminded Jennie but didn't hear any response. "Jennie, do you hear me?" Kai asked.

"I understand!" Jennie annoyingly said. "Are you having mood swings? Kai asked again. "Kai, I already knew that your out of town isn't work related. So don't fool me, okay? You don't want to bring me there, cause you're bringing another one," Jennie frankly said.

"Is that still your issue?" Kai asked irritated. "I'm just telling the truth. You're having an affair with Rosé Manoban, the interior designer," Jennie asserted.
