(Charity's P.O.V.)

"Momma! Miss Lana is looking for you!" Kai yelled barging into our room at the Franklin Home for Young Mothers.

"Okay handsome, I'm on my way." I replied walking downstairs to meet with our home director Lana Paul.

"Charity, I'm glad to see Kai relayed the message." She began "I am good friends with the pastor of a nearby church and he gave a couple of concert tickets so two people from here can go. And, well, I'd like you to take them."

"Are you sure?" I asked scooping up Kai into my arms.

"Yes, I want you to go and bring him along." She answered pointing at the child in my arms.

"Who's playing?"

"Oh I think you'll like them, they're called for King and Country."

"Who? And are you sure about bringing Kai? He's only 2!"

"I think it'd be great! You both will love the show."

"Alright, when and where?"

"Tomorrow at 6, I suggest getting there around 5-5:15."

Lana gave me directions to the church, I knew right where it was once she told me the name. It was sort of small, at least compared to other churches, and a bit run down, I'm surprised they're playing there.

After lunch I bundled up Kai to go outside, it was a bit chilly this November. We went off walking around on an "adventure."

"Arghhh!" He yelled running down the sidewalk, "let's be pirates today momma! Like Jake and Izzy and Cubby!"

"Okay pirate Kai! Let's go find our pirate ship!"

"It's hard, Captain Hook taken it." He said charging full speed, accidentally running into someone.

"Hey there, are you okay?" The stranger asked Kai who was on the ground staring at the person in front him.

"Hezekiah!" I hollered reaching my little boy as the person to whom he ran into was picking Kai up off the ground.

"It's okay momma, I fine." Kai said more maturaly than expected from a 2 1/2 year old.

"Kai, apologize to him right now, you need to be more careful." I scolded grabbing his hand.

"Sorry mister." He said trying to escape my grasp.

"It's alright, I'm glad you didn't get hurt." The stranger said. This is the first time I heard him speak, but I immediately noticed he had a very distinct, beautiful accent as he spoke.

"I'm really sorry about him, he's been a little rambunctious lately." I apologized.

"Don't worry about it! I bet he keeps you busy. I'm Joel by the way." He said sticking out his hand.

I shook it and replied, "I'm Charity and this is Kai, but saying he keeps me busy is an understatement, I'm pretty he was takes a little bit of my sanity everyday..."

Joel let out a chuckle before saying anything. "I should probably let you go on with your day then. It's nice to meet you both."

"Bye mister! Sorry for hitting you!" Kai yelled in response waving wildly.

I could tell Joel was laughing a little as he waved back and walked off. Kai and I turned to go back the other direction towards a playground nearby.
