Chapter Twenty Five

I walked into the great hall. Tom flagged me down trying to get my attention but I ignored him. I sat at the opposite end of the slytherin table. I ate in silence. As the deserts appeared a familiar face walked over to me.
"Hello Sirius"
"Hey y/n. Do you maybe wanna go on a walk with me after dinner? I noticed you didn't sit next to Tom and I well- I just figured..."
"I would love to, we can go now if you'd like."
Sirius had liked me since second year. And he's always been a good friend To me. And well he's pretty cute.

We walked out of the great hall arm in arm. I didn't look at Tom but I felt his gaze. His eyes sharp like a knife to my back.

We walked around the lake for a while not saying anything.
"Y/n I noticed the ring on your finger.."
"Tom asked me to marry him, he's threatening me I had no choice"
"Then why did you say yes to me"
"I was angry with him."
"Don't get me involved in this"
"I won't. He just needed to see me have fun with someone else to get my point across."
"I just wish you had went out with me instead of him. He's gonna get you killed. And I just have to watch."
"I wish i had just gone out with you or-"
"Or who?"
"Narcissa"
"Jesus Christ."
"I know. Kinda terrible to find cousins attractive."
"We aren't cousins. Where'd you get that information from?"
"I could've sworn Sev mentioned something-"
"Hah don't listen to that bastard"
"Well I don't feel as bad now"
"Good"

We stood there silently for a moment. He opened his mouth to say something then closed it again as if he was unsure of himself.
"Can I kiss you?"
"Please."
He softly kissed me for a moment before bringing his hand to my waist then supporting my head with his other hand. I put a hand on his cheek and curled the other in his hair.

He gently licked my bottom lip asking for permission to put his tongue in my mouth and I opened my mouth allowing him to. I drank in his sent like rain and mahogany. He tasted like fire whiskey and snow. I savored the kiss. I didn't realize how much I liked him till that moment. Suddenly I heard heavy foot steps and felt a spell barely miss Sirius and I.

I turned around harshly grabbing my wand quickly to see toms face looking at us. His eyes terrified me deeply but i wasn't gonna let him scare me.
"What do you think your doing?"
"Taking a walk, love."
"You know I have to kill him now right?"
"I'd like to see you try bastard."
"Y/n don't make this hard on yourself, step aside."
I stood firmly in front of Sirius. He sneered seeing I wouldn't back down. I cast a protection spell just as he shot one towards us. Sirius came out from behind me. Spells shot wordlessly through the night air.
"Sirius! Run get Dumbledore I can hold him off!"
"I'm not leaving you."
"He won't kill me, now go I'll cover you!"
I shot spells desperate to make sure Sirius got to the castle safe. And he did. I tried my best fighting hard. After a couple minutes I noticed professor Dumbledore and Sirius running down the steps. Just enough of a distraction for Tom to land a spell. My feet got knocked out from under me and I was dragged towards Tom. I dropped my wand. Fuck I dropped my wand. I clawed at the ground hard. Sirius ran across the yard towards me, Dumbledore close behind. Tom lifted me up holding me tight and digging the tip of his wand into my neck.
"Any closer and she dies"
"Mr. Riddle you don't want to do this"
"Let her go."
"How about no."
I bit Toms hand desperate for him to let go. He laughed shooting a spell at my cheek leaving a gash. I felt hot tears stream down my face I watched Sirius cry as well. Dumbledore clearly didn't know what to do.
"This is how this is gonna go. You try any thing she dies. No one says anything about the events of tonight, if you do she dies then you die. Sirius I'll let you live, but you can never talk to my wife again. Do you understand? Professor you will stop your fake tutoring sessions with y/n."
"Go! Both of you fucking go! I can handle him.."
"Accept my deal and you can go."
"I accept."
"Don't you dare fucking hurt her."
"I won't if you accept Sirius"
"Just say yes, we both can live..."
"Fine"

Dumbledore pulled Sirius back to the castle. Tom threw me on the ground. He used a summing charm on my wand.
"I didn't want to have to do this baby, but you leave me no choice."
He cast a magical chain. If I walk to far from him it will put me in excruciating pain.
"Your chain has a limit of 20 feet. Your wand belongs to me now. I will give it to you right before each class otherwise it will be mine, same goes for your potion kit. And since I don't have divination with you I will give your chain to Narcissa if I'm not here Severus, Lucias, or Narcissa will have you chain do you understand me?"
"Yes.. just please don't hurt Sirius."
"I won't if you stay the fuck away from him."
He walked me back to the castle holding his wand to my neck as if I would try something. I cried all the way back to the common room.
