When a few British men high up in the government asked me, Thalia Winsley, to write about my experiences with the colt I fell in love with, I was hesitant at first. I felt that it would only open an old wound in the memories of people around the world. Eventually, I realized that I was just depriving fans of one last time to remember their fallen hero. So, I started this account of my time with one of the greatest champions of the turf, The Iceman. Well, I guess I should start at the beginning. Here goes. This is the story of The Iceman. At times it may seem overly sentimental, but that is only because the horse deserves it. He wasn't just the nation's hero, he was the world's hero.
