There is a motto that goes around Okinawa.

What is that motto?

Kill or be killed.

It is the main reason why I haven't committed suicide. This town is run by the U.S. Goverment so it's kind of like a game to me.

They restrict the people that are under the age of 20 to be at home by 9:00 if they aren't with an adult.

Why do they make such laws? I have no answer to that question.

"Saya! Saya!" My friend, Iniochi, called.

"Oh, yes?" I said coming out of my serious thinking.

"Come on, you have to do the jump!" She says but it sounds like a whine. Then Iniochi started walking away.

"Coming!" I said catching up to her. The ground had our outstretched shadows walking in the same pace, our feet made a small click with each step we made. We enjoyed the peaceful silence as we walked towards the track field.

Soon, we arrived at our destination. The track was shaped like a giant 0 and in the middle was a bed like mat with a bar hovering over it.

"Saya...get ready." Iniochi said. "On your mark..." I then got into running position. "...get set...go!" She yelled an I immediately took off.

I ran and ran until I was near the pole. I was waiting for the perfect moment and then...

Now! I mentally yelled. I did so but when I landed, my knees met my face before coming back down onto the mat.

I sat up slowly and saw that the bar had fell. Iniochi walked up next to me and had a sympathetic look on her face..

Why is she sympathetic? I thought completely dumbfounded.

"You'll get it next time. I know you will! Anyways, are you hungry Saya?" She asked.

I was going to say no until my stomach grumbled before I could say anything. I felt heat rise up to my cheeks while Iniochi chuckled.

"Let's go." She said helping me up to my feet. "Do you want to sit under the tree were we first met?"

"Sure." I replied and after that we went to get our bento boxes. We gracefully and slowly walked to the sakura tree and sat down.

As soon as we did, I opened the bento box and slid the top wherever I put it. I ate the egg and the riceball first while Iniochi laughed at me.

"What's funny? Do I have food on my face?" I asked curious to why she was laughing.

"Yes and I'm laughing because you can eat like a hog but never get fat. I envy you."

"Ahahaha! Really?" I said. Iniochi then moved closer to me. She picked the small piece of rice of my face and put it on a tissue.

"Really." She replied. Then we laid on our backs enjoying the view of the clouds until a U.S. warplane soared through the sky.

"That plane it looks...familiar.." I said to no one in particular.

Iniochi had sat up and brought her knees up to her chest and had her arms around them and says, "My mom says that those warplanes always fly to Okinawa. They must be going to the battlefield to prepare for war. It's pretty scary if you ask me. That's right you can't remember anything that happened before last year can you Saya?"

I just shook my head. I still don't know why that plane looked familiar...

"Saya! Let's go!" My adopted brother,Kai, yelled.
