"Amber! Hurry it up, grab my hand! We have to go now!" Jack yelled as he pulled and grabbed Amber's hand.
"I'm trying! I... I think I forgot my necklace!" Amber yelled in a panic, as she was getting dragged by Jack.
"Amber! There's no time to go get it back, you know that!! I'll buy you a new one!"
"JACK!! Nothing will ever replace that necklace, that was the last thing I had from Carrie.."
"Don't. Don't mention that name. Just forget about her. All she did was betray us."
"Us?? Please, Jack. You're only saying that because you loved her, hell, you probably still do. She didn't betray me. She betrayed you, " Amber said furiously.
"Amber. I don't love her and I never did. I told you that, not after what she did. Look, we're even running from her now."
"That's not her. She'd never do that, if only they hadn't gotten her, she'd still be here. And, you'd be happier with her than you are with me now."
"That is Carrie. She would've turned on us eventually with or without their help. Also, don't say that. I'm happy with you, in fact, I'm happier with you."
"Really? Sure didn't seem like it..."
"Don't start, not now."
"Hey, remember in high school when I was madly in love with you? Honestly, I wanted to give up on you once I saw how you looked at her. You looked at her with so much love and happiness. Every time you were with her, I saw how happy she made you. I knew I could never compare, I knew that'd I'd have to let you go for everyone's sake."
"Ambe-"
"No, shut up. I'm not done. Do you know how much that hurt?? All of my friends told me to move on, that you weren't good enough for me. And maybe they were right, but, oh man, jealousy. Jealousy always got the better of me, Carrie was beautiful and smart. The whole package, in fact, I can see why you loved her. I think.."
"Amber..?"
"I think I'm done."
"What do you mean?? No, no, you're not done. We promised we'd be together till the end!!"
"Jack. Listen, why can't you just stop for once in your life?? I don't want to do this anymore. I don't want to go on knowing that I'm in love with someone who is in love with someone else. Even if you deny loving her, I know you still do. She was the only one who understood you in ways that I could never. Perhaps, in another life, you'd love me back, but for now, I'm done, Jack. Some promises are just meant to be broken, this was one of them."
"Amber, don't you dare walk away from me!! I'm not going to chase you!! " Jack exclaimed as Amber walked away.
"Goodbye, and hey, save Carrie for me, will you?!" Amber yelled back, finally letting go of the necklace.
