Chapter 30- The Noose Tightens Pt2

"What do you mean Cheryls missing?" Veronica asks after Toni just told us she's worried about Cheryl
"Do you remember how paranoid Cheryl was at her slumber party saying that her mom and uncle were out to get her?" I nod my head
"Well I think they did something to her"
"What? What kind of something?" Josie asks with her hand on one hip. Veronica is stood with both hands on her hips while I stand with my arms crossed
"Her mum said that they sent her off of to some all girls boarding school in Switzerland"
"Well that's easy enough to check because there's only one. Surval Montreux" of course Veronica would know that
"Please this is Cheryl we're on about"
"If Cheryl was in the Swiss Alps, she'd be posting parka selfies every hour" Toni says exactly what I was going to say
"Her social media has been dead for days" I say then chew on my thumb nail out of nerves
"Wait. That's a sure sign of foul play" finally something Veronica and I agree on "whatever you need Toni I'm in"
"Me too. Even if we have to storm Thistlehouse" Josie says. Toni looks at me
"Well obviously I'm in" I say worried about where Cheryl is.

The next day we find ourselves at Thistlehouse talking to Cheryl's mom
"Now that you've barged you're way in, go ahead girls ask your questions"
"You said Cheryl was away at some boarding school?" Toni says
"Honestly, I'm not in the habit of explaining myself to school girls"
"Maybe not Mrs Blossom but you may have heard that my mother is..dating Sheriff Keller" Josie starts "if you won't tell us the truth then maybe you'll tell him"
"Alright then. The truth is that Cheryl started exhibiting strange deviant behaviour. So I sent her abroad to a wellness institute where they're trying to help her. You don't have to believe me but here let me show you something" she hands a piece of paper to Josie. Immediately she looks terrified
"Oh my god"
"She's draw dozens like it"
"I don't understand" Veronica says
"Neither do I" I say
"No but Josie does don't you?" Mrs Blossom slightly smiles "Cheryl was obsessed with you to the point where I was afraid she might hurt you or herself or both. So if you'd like me to tell that to your mother and her boyfriend and show them and the town Cheryls drawings of you I'd be happy to. But I hope you girls have the decency to keep this private" Josie stands up and walks out
"You sure that's it? Or maybe it's because you can't handle the fact your daughter likes girls" I cross my arms "just because she drew pictures doesn't mean she's mentally insane"

I follow Josie out with Toni and Veronica
"Slow down we need to regroup" Veronica says running after her
"If what Mrs Blossom says is even a tiny bit true that means Cheryl threatened me. Sent me a bloody pigs heart"
"What what?" I ask confused
"I'm out you guys I'm done" we watch her walk off all feeling a little deflated that we have no more of an idea where Cheryl is.

"What about something like uh.. 'I'm all about investing in the citizens of Riverdale, not just profiting'"
"I like that Jug. Thats great"
"Yep, unlike someone else who will be in the running" I agree nodding my head
"It's simple..."
"Dad" Archie walks into the kitchen where Jughead, dad and I are talking about his campaign
"Hey"
"Jug, Rory, whats going on?"
"Oh Jug and your sister are helping me out with the, your mother calls it my announcement address. I'm not much for speechifying"
"But Jughead is a great writer and has a way with words" I finish off dads sentence knowing exactly what he was about to say
"Oh by the way your mother said you'd be stopping by at the announcement" dad says looking at Archie, dad already knows I will be there "I appreciate that"
"You shouldn't have to appreciate it as if Archie is going out of his was to come. At the end of the day we are a family, we help and support one another"
"Yes but your brother is in a difficult situation" dad looks at me. I huff and cross my arms.

I'm sat with Toni and Veronica in the gym the next day. Earlier when we were in class Toni was called to the principles office, she's now telling us why
"Ok now we are all here I need to tell you both something" Toni looks between me and Veronica
"Nanna Rose rang me"
"What?" I frown with confusion
"Yeah. Although we got disconnected before she could say to much beyond the fact that Cheryl was nearby and that she was with the sisters"
"The sisters? What sisters?" Veronica asks
"I don't know. Maybe theres a reeducation camp call The Sisters" Toni looks just as confused as I do
"Well theres the sisters of quiet mercy but that's more like an orphanage. I don't think they do gay conversions there" say shaking my head "then again who knows what goes on in this town" I sigh
"Well who would know for sure?" Toni asks
"Oh my god. Of course, Kevin"
"Well lets go find him then shall we" I get up from my seat with Veronica and Toni behind me.
We find Kevin at his locker and bring him into a quiet room
"Yes it absolutely could be the sisters of Quiet Mercy. It's one of the few places in this country that still does conversion therapy. Off the books of course"
"What the hell decade is this?" Toni says angry. Veronica and I both scoff I agreeing with her
"During prohibition the sisters ran a distillery in the basement. They used to smuggle booze out to Sweetwater River via a tunnel that still exists today"
"A tunnel that we could use to get to Cheryl?" Veronica asks folding her arms
"Potentially. Gay boys in the program use it to sneak out to hook up with perfectly nice young men like myself in fox forest"
"Wait. Kevin can you lead us to this secret gay hook up tunnel?" I ask
"I can probably find it but we should go at night"

Later that day my dad has his speech, which of course I go to with Sweet Pea, Toni and Fangs, but I'm pissed because my stupid twin brother didn't come to support our dad, we all know where his loyalties lie and thats not with this family. After dads speech I hag out with Toni, Fangs and Sweet Pea until it's time for Toni and I to meet up with Veronica and go and rescue Cheryl.

"Alright according to my intel the tunnel that leads from the main residence comes out here"
"Ok that's our way in then" Veronica says
"Kevin you stay here if we're not back in 15 minutes call your dad" I say
"Got it" he says nodding his head. Toni and I get out crowbars and start prying the door open. Once inside we split up and start running down a hallway looking for Cheryl. I look in every room with no look, I can hear Toni and Veronica calling Cheryls name. I soon hear talking so I go over to that room, Veronica must have had the same idea as me
"We gotta go" she says
"Ok" I stick my head in the room and see Cheryl and Toni kissing. I'll freak out about that later, but right now we all need to leave because the sisters are now on a war path
"Guys we gotta go, now!" I shout. Toni takes Cheryls hand and we all begin running down the halls and back to the tunnel to get out where Kevin is shouting at us to hurry. We all leg it into the woods and back home.
