Ladybug
She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Emilie and Gabriel Agreste, both seemingly asleep, or-

"Mother? Father?" Chat Noir whispered.

Her heart broke for him. She reached for him, but he was already moving forward. "Why? WHY?"

"He's not dead. Just resting."

Their heads snapped in the direction of the voice, but before they could make anything out the lights went out. "Nice try," Chat Noir said. "I have night vision."

"Precisely."

"NO!" She heard him scream, as the sound of glass shattering filled her ears. Everything was black. She heard a pounding noise, but it may have been her own heart.

"Chat I-" she didn't get to finish her sentence. She gasped as fingers wrapped around her neck tightly, pinning her in place. She kicked and fought, but couldn't get free.

The lights turned back on, and she looked around. A girl with long brown hair wearing the butterfly miraculous was holding her by the throat, and a boy with slicked blonde hair was holding Gabriel and Emilies limp bodies in a tight grip.

"Give us your miraculous," the girl seethed. "And we'll let you keep one of them." Chat Noir's ring beeped. Terrible timing, she thought bitterly. The girl smiled. "In just minutes you'll be powerless. Give up now and no one gets hurt."

"Never," he growled. He looked at her, and in the eyes she had grown to love, she saw it. He knows we can win this.

"Lucky charm," Ladybug whispered. She looked up, and a black polka dotted red helicopter fell. Her captor screeched and released her grip on her as it came crashing down. Ladybug smirked and took the opportunity to break free. Gabriels captor released him as the helicopter hit the ground, but Emilie was held in a viselike grip Ladybug knew was a losing battle. She grabbed Gabriel and hopped on board. "Come on Kitty lets go," she said desperately, as he stood there, the helicopter wind blowing through his hair as tears budded in his eyes. "We're about to transform back and we have Gabriel Agreste. We can't risk it."

The butterfly girl narrowed her eyes and took the boy's hand, then the lights went off and on again and they were gone, Emilie with them.

Chat Noir clenched his eyes shut and took Ladybugs hand, leaving the crumbling mansion together. "Everything will be okay when I throw- or uh, try to throw- the lucky charm in the air."

"It's not that," Chat Noir said, looking away. "You wouldn't understand."

Ladybug bit her lip as the helicopter flew peacefully through the air, both of their hair blowing softly with the wind.

"Maybe I wouldn't," Ladybug said gently, taking both of his hands with hers. "She was your mother, you believed she was gone, but now you know that that was all a lie, and you're hurt. You feel alone, deserted, sad- but Chaton, you're not."

She placed her hand on his cheek gently pulling him in to meet her eyes. "You have me."

Their miraculous beeped rapidly, only seconds left before they transformed back. He chuckled softly, tears spilling down his cheeks. "Maybe you do understand Ma- M'Princess."

She laughed as tears of her own poured down her cheeks. "I do understand. And I never got to tell you before but I- I love you. Adrien Agreste I love you for all of you, every piece of you. I just- you're just so-"

She was cut off by his lips on hers, their hands entangled together like they had always meant to be there, his left hand on the small of her back, while his right cupped her cheek, their tears melting into one and their hearts pounding in synchronous beauty.

This is everything and anything I could ever want. He is mine. Finally mine.

She knew she was about to transform back, and pulled away from him by just a hairs breath, to whisper "miraculous ladybug." The ladybugs came and fixed the city, taking the helicopter with them, and bringing them back down to Paris.

She felt her costume melt away, along with Ladybug as she kissed Chat Noir, who melted into Adrien. She knew she should probably let go, allow him to breathe, but she couldn't seem to make herself pull back her hands from his neck, as he kissed her nose, her tear streaked cheeks, her forehead, making her giggle with joy.

He rested his forehead on hers, and despite not being able to see, she could feel his smile. His arms were still wrapped around her waist, while hers rested gently on his shoulder, the broken pieces finally piecing themselves together. Eventually they caught their breathe, enough to say the words that had been aching in their chests for months.

"Marinette?"

"Yes?"

"I love you too."
