Tanjiro's POVI set down the basket I had been carrying, opening the lid to place the charcoal I had created to go when i go into the Village down the mountain. Ever since my father had died of illness, I had taken a lot of responsibilities, like making charcoal and chopping wood, making errands and simply caring for my family. I placed the last bit of charcoal into the basket before grabbing the straps and putting it on my back with my arms holding onto it like I am carrying a backpack.
"Tanjiro!" My head turned to see my mother walking out, cleaning her hands on her robes as she spoke. "Come here, you got a spot on your face" I walked to her and she began to wipe my face, smiling lightly.
"You don't have to do this you know, the snowfall is dangerous and you could get ill" My mother spoke softly, her voice angelic and caring.
"Well I want everyone to be well fed on New Year's. It's the least thing I can do" I said smiling brightly. My mother seemed to understand, she knew the pain we all went through since dad died. So I want everyone else's family to be well fed and not starved.
"Big bro!" I heard one of my siblings call out to me. With a smile on my face, I turn to see Shigeru and Hanako running over with smiles, bouncing a little happily. I couldn't but giggle seeing them being such adorable siblings.
"You're going into town aren't you?" Shigeru looked excited as ever.
"I'm going with you!" Hanako looked at me with a slight upset look. Takeo waked around the corner, frowning as he held his axe over his shoulder
"Oh no you don't. You can't walk fast like Tanjiro, and he can't use the cart to get you guys around if you get tired" Mother looked at them with a serious look. I could tell she didn't want to lose anyone else either, the track down the mountain can be dangerous.
"I can be of help Brother!" Hanako looked up at me, stomping her foot. I knelt down and rubbed her head, smiling.
"Thanks, Hanako," I started, I saw her eyes light up, then fade quickly after I said, "But you have to stay home"
She pouted, I then looked to Shigeru and placed my hand on his head. "And I'll get you some goodies on the way back"
"Really?" He smiled quickly
"Yeah, really" I repsonsed
I stood, looking at Takeo. "Takeo, can you chop some wood for me so I can make more charcoal when I get back?"
Takeo sighed, frowning. "Yeah, yeah, I will. I was hoping we could do it together." I smiled. I walked over and rubbed his head
"There, there"
"Hey! Stop doing that!" Takeo grunted as I pulled my hands away smiling
"Takeo is blushing!" Shigeru said, laughing
"No I'm not!" He defended himself quickly.
"There, there" I rubbed his head with my hands again, and he pulled back quickly.
"Hey! I said to knock it off!" He pouted and we all laughed. After a bit of fooling around I started to walk to the direction of the village.
"Bye Tanjiro! Come home soon!"
"Bye brother!"
I turned and smiled, waving my goodbye before continuing my trip.
After a couple of hours I could see the village. I still tracked down the path that leads from my home to the village. Wasn't long till I reached the bottom and walked through the village
