Chapter 8- Slap

"Are you always this clumsy?"

She stared at him feeling his large and rough hand in her waist, don't know what to do next when Phoenix lifted her in his arms.

"Kyaaa!..."

"Why are you drinking so much when you can't even take it?" Amy lowered her head in embarrassment. He put her down to the bench near the lake when he suddenly noticed her red cheeks and thought something.

'I want to kiss her'

Amy, whose head has been lowered and staring at the ground for a while, being lifted on her chin by his tan large hand. Phoenix looked at her purple eyes shine brightly by the moonlight, as he was about to bring his face closer to her, Amy's eyes instantly got blurred due to intoxication and passed out on his broad shoulder.

'Is she sleeping?'

Phoenix's eyes curved as he realized how cute this woman is. He carried her into his arms and brought her to her room.

'Is it morning already?'

Amy got up from her lying position and yawned, her head hurts as she wondered how she got to her room last night. While grooming herself, she wiped away that thought and went to the training area. The knights were gathering and murmuring something and she talked to Daniel.

"What's happening?"

"Ah, they were murmuring because Commander Adelard's girlfriend came."

"He had a girlfriend?" She said as her eyes widened in shock. She can't believe that he has a girlfriend but on the other side, why not? he is incredibly handsome, strong and rich, and every woman would fantasize to get him.

"Right, and everyone don't like that Lady because she was always bullying the knights and servants." He said in annoyance and his arms crossed.

"..."

"By the way, when you encounter her just ignore her."

They started their training and Apollo ordered Amy to pass the parchment scroll to Phoenix's office. She hurriedly went to his office and when she was about to open the door, someone opened it from inside. She saw a magnificent Lady in Red dress pairing its hair with glowing jewelry. Her body stiffened in front of the door and the Lady said something.

"Can you step aside?" The Lady said raising her right brow and her cold pupils glancing at her. Amy came back to her sense and step aside and just bow her head as she thought this Lady came from a prestigious family base on her outfit and attitude. She went inside and pass the parchment scroll to  Phoenix and was about to leave.

"Wait!" Amy slowly turned her back to him.

"Y-yes?"

"Do you remember something about last night?"

"H-huh?...Ah w-what do you mean Commander Adelard?"

"Nothing." He chuckled as if he was teasing her and brought his eyes to the document. Amy leave the office and shocked when she saw the Lady from earlier. The Lady stared at her with anger in her eyes. A sharp blow of smack landed on her face and her eyes started to shed tears as she fell to the floor.

Phoenix hurriedly went outside as he heard something fell on the ground and he saw Lady Cameron standing and Amy sitting on the floor with a hand printed on her cheeks.

"Explain what's going on Lady Cameron!"

"Oh Phoenix, this woman here bumped into me and fell on the ground. She didn't even apologize to me." She said in like a child voice and clung to his arms with her voice like she wanted a sympathy from him.

Phoenix frowned in annoyance of her clinginess and brought her eyes to Amy whose still in the ground.

"Get up"

Amy looked at him and slowly stand up.

"You're not going to apologize?"

Amy's eyes began to blurred as she wondered what she did wrong to be slapped and apologize for the things she didn't do.

"B-but Commander Adelard..."

"What? Are you accusing me of lying? You bumped into me and didn't even apologize it's your fault!" Lady Cameron said, still clinging to Phoenix' arms.

Amy didn't want the commotion to last any longer, even against her will, she apologized. She noticed Lady Cameron grinned, as they both went inside his office.

Daniel noticed her walking back to the training area.

"Eve, what happened to your face?" Amy bend down her head so that he wouldn't notice her reddened cheek.

"Nothing...nothing happened."

"God, did Lady Cameron did this to you!?" He quickly learned that Amy encountered Lady Cameron.

"..."

"That Lady has done nothing good in Citadel City and bully everyone. I don't know what Commander saw in her. Follow me, let's put cold towel on your face." She obediently and silently followed Daniel inside the Castle.

"Are you not going home?"

"No...I'm not. I told you Phoenix I'm going to stay here for a while. Besides, I want to warm your bed at night since I went away for a few weeks."

"I already told you Lady Cameron, I'll just contact you if I need you. My people are not comfortable seeing you here."

"And so? Are they more important than me?"

Tsk!

"Are you really asking me that?"

"Fine! I'll just stay near the Castle and visit you."

Phoenix was really annoyed by Lady Cameron but he don't know why he can't let go of her. He didn't even have feelings for her, for him she was just a toy he could play if he want to.

Lady Cameron left and his butler Victor serve him a tea.

"Would you want me to stop Lady Cameron from coming here, Sir?" He said while his head down.

"Let her be. She's most likely to act reckless if you stop her." He sipped his tea and Victor just nodded his head and pour another tea.

He went to his private library that only Victor and him can enter and pulled out a book from a bookshelf.

"Sir...don't you still forget her?" Victor asked anxiously

"Why?"

"Because that book is your memory of her."

Phoenix sat down and looked at the book. It is the book that her beloved ex-girlfriend left and has a poem in it. This is the reason why Phoenix can't love another woman, because his one and only love cheated on him. It had been a long time since he had sworn that he would never love again, and from that time, he started to play with the bodies of different women and just have fun. When he was tired and bored of them he would dump them and find another woman.
