It wasn't often at all that Cupid and Mace had done sexual things besides Cupids very occasional attempts at flustering Mace which never actually led to actual sex just a very flustered and blushy Mace and a cocky Cupid making fun of him. However one specific night things ended a little different in a way. It had been their 4th year anniversary and Cupid had jokingly suggested them drinking together and somehow they ended up actually going through with that plan. By the end of the night they were both pretty wasted which wasn't entirely unusual for Cupid but for Mace who hadn't been much of a drinker at all he was definitely not taking the alcohol too well. One thing led to another and Cupid ended up doing what they usually did and started teasing Mace which usually there aren't major consequences to this but this wasn't normal Mace were talking about here right now, this was wasted drunk Mace and he wasn't letting this slide. Let's just say that was a night they'd both remember for a very long time for multiple reasons now but shh. Two weeks after that night Mace had to go on a mission that would require him to be gone for atleast a few weeks, you see normally the pro heros in Japan wouldn't have to leave Japan because there were heros in every part of the world who could take on whatever threat was in their specific region. However this time Uruguay's best heros had already been attacked and either hospitalized or killed and it was being taken over by villains so Japan had decided to send its pro heros over to help. Now Uruguay was 20 hours away from Japan which is why it'd take atleast weeks to get there do what they had to do and get back. When Mace had first told Cupid about the whole leaving for so long for the mission Cupid was to say the least pissed off. This had been one of the few times Cupid had ever genuinely insulted Mace so much. No it was not for selfish reasons like just wanting Mace to stay there with him so he wouldn't miss him and all of that but for the reason of Cupid was terrified he'd lose Mace. I mean the villains there killed off and injured so many pro heros what would stop them from injuring or worse hurting Mace? They had a big fight about it that ended up in both of them crying atleast a little bit whether it was from anger frustration or genuine fear. Even after that Mace still decided to go because it was his job as a pro hero to protect the world and he was going to bail on that mission just because Cupid was worried about him. The mission ended up lasting for exactly 4 months it had been tiring, a few pro heros lost their lives a few were critically injured but most got to come back with their lives after defeating the villains. During that whole thing Cupid refused to text Mace and if they did it was just updates on how Poker is doing at home. Mace had entirely too much to deal with out on the battlefield to really acknowledge his partners pettiness at that moment so he never really noticed it until he was on the plane on his way home from the mission. When he finally got home the first person to greet and kiss him was surprisingly his dog, Poker. Poker had of course been worried as well but he had trust in his master coming back home he just knew he would. A few minutes later Cupid walked down the steps wearing an extremely baggy shirt, he looked awful with bags under his eyes and all. However despite his exhausted expression and look after making his way down the steps he basically jumped into Maces arms hugging him tightly and letting a few tears go down his face and onto Mace saying phrases like "I thought I'd lose you.." and "I was so worried". And usually Mace would be more concerned about his lover crying but he was exhausted from the mission and he suffered some ptsd from it as well but also....there was something else concerning him too. "...Cupid...your stomach....You're...pregnant..?" He asked now looking at Cupids stomach which it wasn't obvious that he had a baby bump from just looking since he had on a pretty baggy shirt but after that hug it was most certainly obvious to Mace what was going on here.
