"ting ting ting"

I wake up to the sound of my annoying alarm. Jump out of my bed get ready for school and slip into my shoes heading towards the front door. You guessed it right ! I get stopped by my mother handing in my breakfast and she reminded me to take my tablets.

I pursed my lips in a pout as a sweet smile took over her face. "I'm not hungry mom, I don't wanna be late for school."

" You better drop that attitude young woman" She grinned.

"There is no one to blame but yourself for waking up so late "

"I don't wanna talk about this right now mom. NOT RIGHT NOW!" I slammed the door while speaking.

My neighbours  whispered beneath their breath " What has changed with this girl?"

"She was not like this before" replied the other.

I waved at them with my middle finger pointed subtly "Good morning! Mr and Mrs Ledfred. Hope you have a good day" Loved how they were assailed by detestation. I paused to look at my watch only to realize I was running late by 15 minutes. I rushed my feet to school. As I was walking on the pavements, a piece of paper caught my attention from afar. I walk towards it to take a closer look. Appears to be a Polaroid, So out of curiosity I reach for the ground, lift the Polaroid and lock my eyes with the person in the picture. It was a girl standing in the same location I found the Polaroid at with a wide smile, brown eyes; long hair and a red collar tie seemingly a school uniform. She put up two fingers in the photo to my understanding seemed like a peace sign. I flipped the polaroid and on the back, there were two weird scratches. I dusted the polaroid and stood confused. If the picture was taken at this exact location the girl must be nearby so I searched along I couldn't seem to recognize this girl so asked the people nearby if they have seen her. I was pretty amused to find out that no one had heard of this girl. I didn't want to throw the polaroid so I kept it with me and rushed my path to school. As usual, I was late for school and sat along with the boring lectures of the day. I couldn't stop thinking about the girl in the Polaroid. How could have no one heard of her within the same neighbourhood? I reach my bag for the Polaroid and placed it on my table. This time I focused on the tiny details in the picture, behind her was a maroon car. The same car I walked past today morning on my way to school. My friend Avelyn Spencer beside me jumped in and snatched the Polaroid from my hand and asked me where I found this cool 3D Polaroid of our schoolmate. "3D Polaroid?" I shook my head.

"What are you talking about?" I asked her bluntly.

"The girl just smiled at me and lifted her 2 fingers slowly one by one" She replied.

I was stunned. I quickly took a look and saw nothing of what she referred to as. I then asked her if she recognizes the girl. She said no but she felt a certain familiarity with this girl. "Must be because she goes to our school" she exhaled.  I asked around if anyone knew her. But nobody recognized her despite her being our schoolmate. I decided to not take it to head so I threw the Polaroid in the dustbin and left for my way back home. On my way, I noticed the maroon car from across the street. I took a pause. My feet were pointing towards that direction and my heart was hinting me to go closer but I eventually convinced myself to just go home instead. That night I worked on my homework and slept off.

The next day I woke up early as I could barely sleep the previous night with the number of things I had running on my mind. I decided to pack my bag for school. As I  grab my textbook to drop it in my bag, My heart started pounding "How did this Polaroid come here?" I was certain that I picked up my textbook. My eyes moved lower from the polaroid held in my hand. I noticed strange scars on my wrist just as similar to the ones on the back of the polaroid.  I couldn't recollect how I got hurt. But at this point, I was too occupied with thoughts.
