The Kensington family had been ruling over the land for several generations. Some of the town folk were getting tired of how the old king was ruling over them and their way of life. Most of the young town folk wanted a new and fresh change of power. However most of the older town folk wanted the exact opposite. They in fact didn't see a problem with how their king was running the kingdom. They had no arguments and were pleased with the small and subtle changes the old king had made over the years. The older town folk were very much stuck in their ways and feared change very much like the old king himself. There were often disagreements among the two groups of people. They often never saw eye to eye on anything and were always in one way or another at each other's throats. The younger town folk never agreed with the decisions and choices of the older and more experienced town folk. The older town folk often bashed the younger and told them in more ways than one that they had no idea what they were talking about. The older often stated that the younger had no bones in their body that would ever understand the rules and laws their very king made to protect them. Which often led to even more arguments. One of the more vocal and younger nobles had had enough of the constant bickering between the two classes and decided it was time to come up with another solution that would please both parties. He was a young, but very educated noble and was also a scholar among the town folk as well. He decided that he would sit down with one of the future Kings of the Kensington line.

The young prince was a rather handsome young man. Although he was the oldest son to that of the King he did not want to rule over the land. He wanted to settle down and have a family unencumbered by that of being royal and having royal blood. He saw the consequences and the burden it caused on his family and how it affected them with every good or bad decision made by the king. The prince didn't want that for his future or in any capacity for his future family as well. Well at least not in the way his father was handing everything that dealt with the kingdom and its problems. The prince didn't even want to think about what would happen if and when his father died or something else happened to the king. The prince just didn't want that responsibility or burden on his shoulders. He saw the dangers and damages that it caused him and his family. Ruling a kingdom was a lovely and deadly thing. It wasn't for everyone and he knew that all too well. He knew it better than most cared to admit.

The younger town folk who were a little closer to the young prince than the king would have liked often came together on different occasions. They often got together and had little events and things that the prince was a ready and willing participant of . Which happened a lot more often than it should for the king's liking. The king feared the intentions of the town folk, especially the younger ones that lived in his kingdom. The king feared the younger town folk for a very real and legitimate reason. The king feared that the younger and more knowledgeable people would rise up and join forces to overthrow him. He feared that he would lose any and all credibility if there was an uprising between him and his people. He often felt that they should be put in their place for the very reason of showing them who truly was in charge and who they needed to listen to. He often met with his son on occasion about the matter at hand. The king told his son that this was not the way to run a kingdom and the town folk would take advantage of him and his power. But the prince did as he wished and met with them anyway. When it came to the prince he often disobeyed a direct order from his father. He never saw the harm in them coming to him for matters that he might be able to help with. He never understood the harm and displeasure it caused his father.

The prince sat in on the meeting and started it off as they always had the many times before. The younger town folk often had these meetings several times a month and talked about a wide variety of things. During this meeting however things changed and came off the path their meeting usually went. The young town folk expressed their concerns readily. At first however the young prince dismissed them not really wanting to talk about taking the throne from his father. But this didn't stop the people as they continued. They stated that they wish that he would step up and be their new and rightful king. They wanted him to take the throne earlier than the king had previously planned. The town folk wanted the prince to step in and take over ruling their kingdom. The town stated that they would back him and they would take it together with force if they needed to. The younger town folk hated their king and felt he had no experience other than his blood line to rule them. When the prince saw how distort and upset the town folk were he decided to have a talk with his father about the matter.
