"I now pronounce you, King Phillip Kensington." The archbishop stood at the center of the room so all the town folk could see and hear what was going on around them. The king bowed to his people and then returned to his standing position. Phillip did not realize that the archbishop had already stepped to the side so he now had the floor.
Phillip's voice boomed with excitement and joy as he spoke to his people. "I am both honored and blessed to be your king. I am here today standing before you because of you. I will rule by example and fairness. This will be a new way of life. A democracy if you will...No matter what happens I am here for you."
Phillip again bowed to his people dismissing them and then walked to his chambers. It had been a long couple of months where days were long. It made all the days run together like a blur never really separating much from the day before. Phillip drug his feet knowing he still had a lot of events and parties to plan for the kingdom. Right now he just wasn't in the mood for all of that right now. He wanted to take time and think about what was in store for his kingdom. He didn't want to turn into his father in any way. He owed his people a great deal and he didn't want to turn into his father. The very thing these people were trying to get away from would cause these people great distress. He wouldn't let that happen to his people. He just wanted to be the right fit for them. After all that is what these people deserved wasn't it.
King Phillip walked to his chambers away from the hustle and bustle of his kingdom. He sat at his desk and began to look over some laws that were provided by his father as a friendly gesture to help his son with his kingdom and also to keep his people in line. King Phillip understood his fathers intentions that he was only trying to help, but that was not what he needed right now. He needed a friend...a wife perhaps that could help him rule the way he wanted to. He needed a Queen, but the only thing that came to mind was a girl he had long since forgotten. Oh how he had fallen head over heels for her. That poor farmer's daughter who had left so long ago. He didn't even know her name, but King Phillip had had an instant connection with her before his father came to ruin it. If only he could find her and bring her back to understand. But that didn't happen to kings.
So King Phillip sat at his desk drafting policies he would never enforce and longing for his wife that wasn't as far as he thought she was from his grasp.
