   February 14th, 2001

   Alastair's POV

MJ and I didn't have any classes today as we had only 1 class on Wednesday but it was canceled because the teacher had gotten sick with a stomach bug late last night. It was Valentine's day and I wanted to ask Mckayla to be my girlfriend since we had been on over twelve dates since our first date last month. I still haven't told my family about MK yet but I probably will soon if she agrees to be my girlfriend, if not I would still like to be friends with her. 

   After our seventh date, I wanted my friends to meet her, correctly at least, since the first meeting wasn't the best way. They all loved her even Lucas loved her, he didn't really like many people besides our small group of friends and his friend who we all think will be his girlfriend sooner or later. Carly and James loved her the most, they claimed she was the funniest and most bossy girl they have ever met and said they loved that about her. They also said she would be perfect for me and they even gave their approval of us going out on dates and possible dating as boyfriend and girlfriend. 

   I decided to ask Mckayla as my girlfriend today because it's Valentine's day and seemed very romantic, at least to me, but also because it's one day before our very first date which started everything. I had decided to make a card of sorts along with buying her favorite pink roses. It's a note asking her to be my girlfriend and the card will have her pink roses inside along with a balloon, chocolates, ribbons, colored string, and a small promise ring, it will be on her bed once she gets out from the last class she will have today. I will let her find me, so she could tell me her answer. 

 Mckayla's POV

   I had just finished my last class Acting 1, I was now heading back to my dorm to drop off my homework, books, and bag before I headed to the dinning hall, to have dinner with Freddy and his friends, who were also now my friends. I grab my key and push open the door and see a box with a  balloon above it sitting on my living room couch. I grab it and see the balloon is connected to whatever's inside the box. I look inside and see a card of sorts with my favorite pink roses and chocolates, but what made me gasp was the small box inside that held a beautiful diamond band butterfly ring. 

The card read "You want to be my girlfriend?" While the balloon read "If you say yes I promise to make you happy". I didn't even hesitate to grab the promise ring and as soon as I picked up the ring a small plain necklace chain was attached with a small note in Freddy's handwriting.  "I know with your art projects and what would happen if the press saw you with a ring on your finger, so I decided this might do some good."

  I smiled and put the ring on the chain and hooked the necklace to my neck before heading to the dinning hall to give Alastair his answer, which is yes. I guess that explained why he had been nervous for the last week and a half. I found Alastair waiting for me, I think, outside the dinning hall. "Yes" I announced, reaching him. He turned startled but smiled at me. "You mean yes, as my girlfriend?" he asked, still smiling. "Yes, of course, I'll be your girlfriend Alastair" I confirmed, nodding my head. I smiled and pulled him in a hug, and kissed his cheek.
